The highlight of the month was undoubtedly the release of a new hardware instrument, the B4000+ organ.  A miniaturized incarnation of an earlier Creamware 'Authentic Sound Box' product, but with improvements in sound and functionality.  It is great to see Scope and it's related off-shoot companies such as Ferrofish and John Bowen's Solaris keep up the development in the instrumentation side of things, confirming Scope as the unique platform that it is.

Speaking of instruments, there are many instrumentalists using Scope including one from right here down under (Australia) called 'BassDude' using Scope to record the music of his band and his five string fretless bass.  And let's not forget the ultimate keyboard 'Solaris', with JimmyVee giving us the low down on how it conquers all-comers and still doesn't fail to impress after several weeks of use (when the novelty normally wears off).

The fact is, with Scope, the novelty never wears off because there are always ways to extend it's functionality and with this in mind, we review four more record/mix/mastering plugins.  The DAS 1610 Compressor we take for a spin side chain compressing a dance mix, the various Dynatube guitar amp combinations, Sonic Core's own ubiquitous EQ and last in the chain we explore the technique of multiband compression and some of the Scope plugins available to take on this job.

Finally, a small troubleshooting guide to aid with some solutions and common workarounds to installation issues that can come up with workstations running various combinations of Scope and Windows.

As part of the DAS Dynamic Bundle, the 1610 is a surgical compressor featuring a smart GUI, side-chaining and look-ahead.

Some solutions to common Scope issues.  So if you have a problem hopefully someone else has done the hard work of solving it!

Local Aussie talent 'BassDude' uses Scope for the recording of a live band line up, and gives his insights on the use of Scope.

Sonic Core's latest generation equalizer proves to be a great choice for use as an insert on any or all channels of a large mix.

Obviously a rig for Guitarists.  But is it a Mesa Vox, Jim Boogie or a Marshall Twin?   Combine heads/cabs freely with Dynatube.

Mastering your music in bands can yield better results than compressing/equalizing the entire mix.  We look at ways it can be done on Scope.

JimmyVee's story on using DSP live on stage and his involvement in shaping the destiny of the ultimate weapon of live destruction.

Since the release of the A16 MKII, Ferrofish have not been sitting on their laurels.  We preview their latest offering, the B4000+.
