Device wise, the news of the month is the release of Mattomat, a versatile MIDI arpeggiator and sequencer with a user friendly circular interface.  DAS devices continue to impress with their five channel reverb and a new free mixer from CwModular proves to be highly useful, functional and compact.

This could also be considered 'Synth Month' for ScopeRise, as we have features on two of the best.  The Scope community unlocks the potential of the Creamware original that is Vectron, and give some insight into the classic analog reproduction that is Prodyssey including comments from it's designer Matthias Klag.

When I purchased my first Scope rig in 2000, I realized the importance of the Project Breakout Cable, and immediately purchased a spare.  I've never had to use it, but now there's even less chance I'll need to as we now have 53E7's definitive guide to it's connectivity and construction, should anyone need to repair one or build their own.  A great supplement to our STDM article run a few months ago.

Musically, Dropout gives us a lesson on 'How To Measure The Sky' - the title of his recent album as he uses Scope across the European continent to obtain the best sound from some of the best synths.

Finally, take a stroll through our Scope User's 'Museum of Classic Hi Tech Gear' and see some of the roots of the Scope community's experience in digital and analog audio.

Vectron is a standard Scope synthesizer but with user loadable samples it becomes a powerhouse of sonic and classic goodness.

As a follow up to our STDM cable guide, 53E7 gives us a comprehensive guide to the anatomy of the Scope Breakout cable.   A welcome addition to the Scope platform this sequencer/arpeggiator features rock solid MIDI timing and versatile user friendly control.   New from Roy Thinnes, the CwMix 16 x 16 proves to be an excellent option for those with both stereo and mono audio sources.

Across studios in the UK, France and Italy 'Dropout' uses Scope for it's high quality synths and pre production demo mixes.   The rise and fall of ARP is an interesting story, and the Prodyssey is the best legacy to the high times it enjoyed in the '70s.   Take a look at some old classics, some still in use with Scope, some just plain classic, but not forgotten by their owners.

A surround reverb that can also be used effectively in a stereo environment to model aural ambience in a given space.
