I gave Creamware a call....

tech-support said first Giga-3 has to be released before they could work on new drivers. They also said that all drivers will be updated at the given time...

I'm also of the opinion that all samplerates should run now whithout hiccups. But it'll still take some time till DVD audio will dominate the market. According to statistics I've seen 98% of all CD buyers are quite content with the quality of the CD. That doesn't mean that industry will not force ...

IMO, which istallation method (ACPI or Standard PC) should be chosen depends on what kind of configuration you have. Problems whith PCI based cards did very often in the past have their cause in an unlucky arrangement of cards. To assign those problem cards the right IRQ has most often been the key ...

IIRC It's the Northbridge which manages/determines PCI bus bandwidth. The Southbridge isn't so critical.

Using an (older) i860 dual Xeon system here just fine in ACPI mode. Note that my SCSI controllers sit on the 64bit PCI bus and NOT on the 32bit bus (which means that the audio cards pretty much have it to themselves).

Hi guys!

I am about to buy a Dual CPU system, but don't know exactly which road to take. I'm clearly lacking experience whith such Duals.... in fact I've never built such a system on my own. Personally I consider the Dual Opterons as still too expensive....so the candidates are....

Thank you very much "ASTRO" and "GARY" !

It's just that I´ve never seen such a ps with a phone plug (they're maybe more common in live use?). I will contact some Rane dealers on this matter and will try to find the appopriate ps myself. Thanks again!

Lemke, are you around? Or does anybody else know?

I have a question....

What kind of powerchord does the MS-1B use? Or how does the power extension behind the unit look like? Although I´ve visted the Rane Homepage I wasn`t able to find out what kind of power connection this unit has. According to ...

in other words it's very transparent and natural sounding. I think I will buy two of those. Unfortunately the german street price is €269 compared to $149 in the US. I think I will try to order them in the US.

Yes, one of its strengths is to capture transients very good. Therefore it is very well suited for things like "Acoustic guitar". Technically...behind good transient responses you'll find well designed powersupplies and a frequency response which doesn't stand in the way of reproducing those fast ...

Not only is the EQ great sounding, but the PRE also shines. The PRE is much better than the ones of current platimun series! But you have to be looking for that discrete sound that doesn`t hype upper frequencies and always stays neutral and natural, very similar to the ...
