"the situation in the west is that if left as a closed system population is slightly declining. This is good. It is only in less developed nations that the population is out of control - that's what really threatens the stability of the world IMHO."

Is there any online resources you can point to ...

Yes, and I've tried it a couple of times in soundforge. I must be missing something, or at least I hope I do  because anyway I do it, the reverse point is obvious, there's always a little snap, crackle or pop. Try it yourself -> copy, paste to new, reverse, switch to the original window ...

I just found out.. NI Kontakt does it but I have'nt tried it yet.

Edit: I goofed around with it the other day and unfortunately it seems NI yet have a few lessons to complete in the wave driving school. Kontakt is a brilliant smapler but the alternate loop does not make a clean turn, it clicks when ...

..Is a very musical, intuitive and generally brilliant loop mode that seems to have vanished from samplers of later years. For those who've never heard of it, an alternating loop plays forward, then backwards, as opposed to the standard forwards only. It does'nt require the cumbersome searching for ...

Allright, that's cool. We're getting specific, and that's basically my issue with a ...

On the other hand there's a version like that which says: "If at first you don't suceed, try, try and try again. And then give up. No use being a damn fool about things."

That sounds a lot more sensible! And it talks about trying and experience, not deciding beforehand, for the sake of serenity ...

Serenity Prayer: Accept the things I cannot change, to have the courage to change the things I can and to be able to know the difference.

What an attractive philosophy! One just have to decide that most things are out of reach. Such a comfortable way to tell oneself that resignation is good.

I'm just curious, can someone supply a link to information that says that the dropping of Logic windoze was instigated by Emagic?

I don't know either, but with the fact that Apple bought Emagic, it seems more likely to me that this was a directive from Apple. Why should Emagic step out of a market ...

Apple cultivates it's soft and humanistic image in their marketing: In shops, their website, copy and ads there's a lot of open, white and uncluttered space - giving the impression of something fresh, unburdened and flexible. Their gently curved transparent plastic hardware design is also meant to ...

Orbita,

I just got 'Making music with emagic logic audio' by Stephen Bennett. Although the latest logic version it covers is 4.5, the bulk of the program - it's object orientated/modular nature and the dreaded environment concept is well coverered. From what I've seen so far emagic has'nt changed ...

"Behave! Sit straight! Stop that noise! Put a sticker on that cd! Eradicate all discordant tones! That's negative!.." This type of pompous self-justifications follows us from the cradle to the grave. We all have it figured out, have'nt we?

You could try turning the 'pitchbend loop' into another percussion instrument. Something like this.. Apply some of the suggestions here, make the modulation more consistent, make up perhaps a few pitchbend patterns and switch beteween them, 'sync' it in some way. Stick the loop behind a midi'd gate ...

The synths are aflood
And the waves turns to sound
We're shuffled, caressed by gentle streams
Toward unknown grounds
I'll show you that place
Low down at the ocean plains
Where the streets have no name

Beatiful!
