Re: What do you think about the Novation Nocturn MIDI controller

I bought one yesterday, second hand for really cheap. So I can give you my first impression:
For remote control I use an Alphatrack but as I felt I had to little parameters to handle simultaniously for plugins in C4.5, I looked for an additional controller.

Installing Nocturn next to Alphatrack ...

Pulsar I incl. propack and Luna II. Both sold

This is the original 4 DSP pulsar. It has only the propack as optional extra. For this card I ask 150,-. For the Luna II I hope to get 125,-
Both come with original CDs and manuals. If you buy both, you will get a custom made goldplated stdms cable for free.
I'm living in the Netherlands.

Hi,

After 2 month of problem free dualcore XTC Scoping PCI overflow messages appeared every 5 seconds. After checking IRQ sharing and reinstalling Scope, I found out these messages appeared when I plugged a signal in either one of my 2 Luna II cards inputs. After deleting both Luna analog Source ...

Hi Okantah,
I don't use STS. I'm working in XTC mode and use Kontakt2 and Intakt. I managed to make an attracktive crossgrade from STS3000 to Kontakt. IMHO it makes more sense to have a sampler as a real VST instrument, because in that way it puts less strain on the PCI bus, which is still an issue ...

Q:How is the PCI-e graphics card on the new standard working 4 you? I just recieved my sample CPU, and am building a second SFP DAW w/ VST host. I always used the good old 2D Matrox cards, but I feel the Matrox P650 is a little overkill. My DAWMAN tells me a good 100 USD NVidia card will work fine ...

The memory I use in my P5WD2 Premium isn't in the list of the asus manual either. It seems to work fine. In my country I can return memory if it doesn't function properly after testing it.

I recently build a PC with Intel D930, Asus P5WD2 Premium, 2GB Twinmos DDR2 667 memory,2 Luna II's and 1 Pulsar I. When trying to instal XP I noticed that intallation freezed after the copy phase if I choose the standard (Multiprocessor) PC after pressing F5. So I had to go for a ACPI APIC instal ...

I guess the concept of sampling on a DSP PCI board without onboard memory isn't practical. I managed to crossgrade from ST3000 to Kontakt for € 200,- after negotiating with the Dutch distributor and now (almost) all my samplewishes are ...
