Re: How are you going to handle the Upgrade to 5.0?
i'm planning first back up my sfp files then re-ghost my drive to a fresh basic install, then dump SFP5 on.
Hopefully it will be smooth and trouble free, especially with 3rd party devices.

Re: Windows 7 now has XP mode
For the record, it's NOT going to work with scope.
It's basically a VM box of XP. Similar to virtualbox, vmware etc. The technology is based on the crap virtual PC 2007.
There's no way in hell it can access the scope card.

Re: word clock problems - please help?
Tested the art syncgen box out last night, appears to solve the problems with glitches, crackles and devices not locking to wc. Quality wise i personally cant hear any differences in sound quality compared to the swissonic a/d as master or the sync plate as master. But then again i'm no audio ...

Are there any objective tests i can do to test jitter or to see if the sound quality is better/worse?

Re: word clock problems - please help?
I thought you can wire things serially, each device hooks on to a T connector?
Looks like might have to get a seperate wc unit.

word clock problems - please help?
Hi all,
I'm having problems hooking things up via wordclock. Looks like the noah box prevents the swissonic to lock on WC.
i've got a pulsar2+sync plate, swissonic converter, ada8000 converter and a noah ex box.
sync plate (master) -> swissonic -> ada8000 -> noah. [swissonic wont lock on wc ...

i'm satisfied with my 18dsp setup. I've got enough things to tweak and tinker for decades. The old creamware boards, a couple of keyboards and computer vsti, i'm pretty much set. I basically promised myself to stop at that, and learn all the tools until perfection. I personally dont need anymore ...

who actually uses vista for audio work? What's the benefit of vista over XP for audio stuff? I've tried vista and it's nothing ground breaking. It's like swimming with lead weights on, not needed to get the basic job done. From the computers i know - video editors, graphic designers, audio dudes and ...

watercooled cw system
Here's my watercooled pulsar system. 3x pulsar2 cards on my overclocked amd64 and 6800gt card. As you can see, the P180 case is stuffed with cards & drives (4 HDDs, 2 DVD, 3 P2 cards, 1 sync card, 1 HDTV card), the case is limiting but i worked around it. The pulsar cards are cooled with a slot ...
