concerning the switch, yes it works:

USB switch from belkin: one set of mouse/keyboard plugged into this, and it goes to your 2 computers (up to 4), and just press a button for it to commute to another end (computer).

Actually I find it more convenient to just reach out for another mouse...
But ...

I'll always be amazed by the CW community...
Thanks guys for such quick response, even if negative.

I'm still .... trying .... to get used to see my pulsar working in a different computer (OS9) being midi slaved to my big boy running OSX.
That's the best solution I found so far. It ...

Sorry if this question has been already posted, but is there anyway that with the new intel mac, parallel desktop would do the job for SCOPE, so I can run logic under OSX and scope in a virtual machine?

Many thanks for the link, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to support OS9.... That could have been great, still with the need of an extra screen however.
I'm sorry to say again but creamware is gone for me.
Sad cause it was a nice and convenient piece of equipement.
But G5/Logic 7 quick ass for ...

HI everybody,
Just trying to move on, having accepted that nothing is going to happen for my G4 to run CW on OSX.
So, question: has anyone tried to use Scope on an OS9 VNC server piloted from an OSX computer????

Anyway, I think you need quite a few tracks and a serious number of plugs to put the 2x1.8Ghz G5 on its knees.
It will be enought for me, at least.

There was also rumors that PCI-X will disapear as fast as it came, and that the potential next generation of PowerMac will go PCI-express (I'm quite ...

Hi,
Just want to say big honnest thanks to all the people breaking their back on the OSX drivers code for us -for free. I'm sure you're doing a great job.

But can anyone clarify my main concern once for all:
Are the CW cards compatible with the PCI-X bus of the biggest G5s? These things operate ...

Yep, but the for lemmings, there's an ecological reason. When the rodents population size have dropped significantly, it allows surrounding environemental ressources to go back to balance.
Unfortunately, softwares grow more slowly in the meadows if you've go less "rodent-users-developers ...

Right! that's it...

6 to 12 month (according to my mood): that's what I'm giving to CW to do something about OSX, or to show some ACTIVE interest.
After that, bye.... I will sell my card with regret, but I'll move on. G5+OSX, period.
I'm fed up to be stuck in "OS9 stone age" (I'm very nasty, I ...

Not nice of making fun of SCSI disabled people..

Yes of course, the solution is to get rid of it, but then how do I communicate with dear samplers?? Can't live without them. And even if you're an STS5000 fanatic, you've got to admit that it doesn't have all the capacities of a good proper ...

But this time I nailed down the problem: it came after using an AKAI CD.
The next reboot after that I lost again the menu bar, a magic :/D folder appeared etc...
The AkaiCD is read on a SCSI CD player in the computer (plugged on the ...

Sorry for the break in transmission...
Sometimes I've got to work to pay the bills, instead of wasting my time enjoying making music. Cruel life.

Well, the solution I've found. My mouse was difficult to digest -just kidding.
Right, so reinstalling a new system over the old one didn't work. But ...

right, back to square one...
I deleted the old software (including extensions, ASIO drivers, and preferences), and reinstalled in a fresh scope directory just under the root /mac folder.
Guess what?? It doesn't work...
Then I had a look at csnet.ini ; install.ini and all the files that sounded ...

I'm writing mac/jules/scope, as in a terminal path.
It is on a disk called mac, in a folder called jules, and in a folder called scope. There's no complicated folder or hard drive name.

Edit: didn't get your message the first time.
But yes I've tried to move my "scope folder" under the root (Mac ...

Well I suspected the installation from another partition would be the first source of problem. So, it was the first thing I tried: everything from the beginning on the destination partition (unpacking the archive and installing SCOPE)
And I don't think there's anything fancy in my path, it's kind of ...

No I'm on Scope 4.0 now. So I was expecting my pulsar carpet to fly me over a not stop flow of music pleasure

And yes I've trashed all my preferences several times (and then the final solution of the new system).

I'm not familliar with the notion of a "default folder" in my control panel ...

Thanks for your answers.
I'll try to have a look at the csnet.ini manually. I tried to trash it, and it was regenerated automatically, with the same problem. So there must be something dictating the paths somewhere else.
However I'm sure to never have put any spaces or signs in the folder names ...
