If you read between the lines in the dXb FAQ it's pretty clear:

In addition to its extensive onboard effects, the dXb will support specific VST plug-ins which have been approved in advance by Mackie. We will supply a list of tested and approved ...

The dXb is quite different than the d8b:
All of the audio processing IS actually done by the CPU, including all the channel eq & dynamics, and 3rdparty vst plug-ins.
The UAD card delivers additional processing, either as inserts on channels/busses/outputs, or as aux effects.
The dXb is in fact a vst ...

The difference between using asio-32(& 24) or asio-flt is: Where's the conversion done ?
If you use -32, the host does the conversion to float.
If you use -flt, the conversion is done by the Creamware drivers.
Todays homework: What sounds best on the various hosts ???

No need to install anything, it's part of the cards driver.
Are you sure you connected the cable correctly on both ends ?

Adat has the worst jitter of any digital format in my experience. Always use wordclock when adat is involved. Z-Link is MUCH better.

I haven't gotten around to measuring the difference on Z-Link with and without wordclock, but the difference is so small that I can't hear it. (I have an A16ultra ...

I have two Scope cards, and I can't get 96KHz working proberly either...
I get all kinds of error messages like "Not enough audio bandwidth between dsp's" and "Big modules won't fit" !!!
I could live with the fact that some of the synths doesn't work in 96 since I need it mostly for mixing and ...

If the sampler software is any good, you can count me in, wordclock and all.
I need a second asio card on my system anyway, so it's a no-brainer...

Just put the .bat file in the root of your audio drive and execute it from there. You can move it to another folder later.

I always create a folder structure for each song/project that I'm working on. I simply run a .bat file that creates the nessary folders, something like this:

mkdir "_NewProject"
mkdir "_NewProjectAcid"
mkdir "_NewProjectAcidXport"
mkdir "_NewProjectAudio"
mkdir "_NewProjectAudioMaster"
mkdir ...

SyncPlate is not supported in XTC mode.
