In regards to the core duo processors... does a core have to be disabled in order to get things working with creamware cards?

Yeah, 96k is ludicrous. There is barely any benefit. It takes over twice as many computations on your computer and the DSPs when you work at 96 instead of 44.1.

Think of it this way. If you work at that rate, it's like turning a Scope Professional card at 96khz INTO a Scope Project card at 44.1khz.

Hi, I am saving up for a professional card and am on an AMD athlon 64 3800+ with a VIA chipset. Yeah, I know. VIA improved their gig with audio a few years back and I switched from the NForce boards that were "required" to go against the grain, so to speak.

Anyways, I want to swap my processor out ...

In regards, were your problems solved with adequate cooling fans? Kind of startling to read stuff like this when I'm about to purchase a card. I want stability above all else.

What is this global optimization dialog all about too? I am not familiar with the concept. How long are we talking about ...

Jimmy,

Yeah, I can get some type I's for cheap. I trust your opinion and will probably end up getting two Type II srb's shortly and a professional card from some place local.

Btw, how many masterverbs are you getting now that its all type II's? I also saw you had a dualcore setup. How's that ...

If you have standard PC installed, it'll work. I know there was a shutdown bug with pre SP1 as well.

I think that mixing the two is generally a bad idea from what I've read. Why did you opt on two type I SRB expansions? For an extra grand you could have had 2 type II I think, if you paid like $500 per SRB or what not. =)

This card uses the cell processor which is found in the PS3. I just thought the GFLOPS were impressive. 179 GFLOPS! A scope professional is currently pumping like 2.7 something so....

It's just a muse... folks...

More than 179 GFLOPS in PCI Express accelerator card

VERSUS

2.6 gigaflop peak performance on a scope professional card.

Oh, the possibilities.

Sounds pretty good.

Do you know if it's possible to load these .dll plugins, albeit their being dysfunctional, when SCOPE is NOT in XTC mode? (just humor me here, I know it at first glance appears like a pointless question...)

I would like to be able to load the plugins but with processing ...
