I run a SCOPE 3 PCI card / 25 dsp system (Pulsar1 [6 dsp] + Pulsar2 [XTC card w/ additional I/O card] [4 dsp] + Scope SRB [15 dsp]).
Current motherboard is MSI P55-CD53 (MS-7586). This MB appears to be out of production and stocks are limited... but still exist. (maybe not for long?)

SATA is a snap if you've done IDE.
I suggest you download the DG965RY manual from Intel to better understand your other questions.
I have 2 sticks of 1024MB RAM - Kingston KVR800D2N5K2/2G ... DDR2 800 Mhz. Intel docs explain the memory slots and how to install... I have mine in slot 0 of channels ...

I've finally found time to spend with the
(free :smile: SDK ... and I can't figure out how to make a modular III module. For sure it's not in the documentation that came with the SDK. I think that somehow I need to subsitute the modular style for the default style module ... but it's not obvious ...
