BUT what i'm experiencing is that i recently set the 4.5 software to 12ms so i could load more native plugins.. but i was pretty irritated with the external plugins i use in cubase for external gear giving really high latencies with that setting..
now, with 5.0 installed my ...

latency in scope 5
can anyone confirm that the asio latencies are a lot better with scope 5? i don't understand it at all, but since i've installed scope 5 about a week ago cubase responds at 12ms like it was on 6ms withe scope 4.5..
anyone had the same experience?

Re: Another thread about summing in scope
ok, so i'm using Cubase 5 now in stead of sx3 and all problems with sound quality seem over. If i remember right, they said they'd made improvements to the audio engine in 4... So i guess the whole weird "sounds like wrong dithering" problem was the audio engine of sx3 that's just not really good ...

Re: Another thread about summing in scope

i had a lot of times that i recorded all my synths to audio and my mix sound less allive... after another 15 minutes of listening i'm starting to think it has everything to do with the fact that when i put a synth straight on the scope mixer, then record ...

Re: +4/-10
it has to do with unbalanced signals and balanced signals.
if you send balanced signals in (with stereo jacks and an xlr on the output of the device for instance) you should put it on +4. if you send unbalanced in, what most synths send out, you should set it to -10.
it's just a matter of ...

hi, at work i use the 01v/96 a lot. sometimes when a freelancer was here the day before the gain of the eq reacts logarithmic in stead of linear or the other way around.
i've searched the mixer a couple of times to find the function to do that, but i can't find it anywhere. does anyone here know ...

Re: recording audio from within scope
yeah.. i have thought about that... but i've got an extra fan in the case of the computer. ít's set to medium for the noise.. but putting it on high doesn't change this.
i thought that maybe my TDM should be replaced.

Re: recording audio from within scope
i tried sending the audio through adat to another computer which has a RME card installed. that one did record the audio without any loss.
so the only conclusion i can come up with is that the scope drivers degrade the audio.
i hope this will be fixed in version 5.
also, i tried vdat, but when i ...

Re: recording audio from within scope
the problem with recording a stereo mix is that you can't really reopen the track after you did 3 other tracks to change parts of this track.. that's why i always like to have a multi-track recording when i'm done.

i lot of times i wait till i've finished a track and then record all my synths to audio. to find out i have to change the mix again and never get all of the power back which was in there before i recorded the synths.

Re: recording audio from within scope
well, it depends on what you're recording:
if i record my access virus in cubase the downgrade is there, but not that significant.
but if i record any of my real analogs it's VERY noticeable. i have to dip some mid and sometimes add some highs. also, it's as if the recording has become more static ...
