Re: New CPU and MOBO for SCOPE
I spend about one half an hour on the phone with Gary B and he talked me out of upgrading at the current time. My real issue is the 2 gig APP ram limit in XP and I don't know what I was thinking about going i7... other than to be ready for 64 bit which WHO KNOWS when it will actually by useful in ...

Re: New CPU and MOBO for SCOPE
So, I have been in contact with ADK (Daw Builder in the USA) about a new build based around an i7, the two pci creamware cards and a couple of UAD2 cards. He asked if I knew if the creamware cards were 5v. I don't know what he means, does anybody know if the creamware cards are 5v and what does 5v ...

New CPU and MOBO for SCOPE
I have a couple of Creamware cards (7 and 14 DSP SRB). I want to update to a new i7 chip and mobo. Will the soundcards work on the new hardware? Are there better MOBO than others for the i7 and Scope?
Thanks in advance,
Jim

Re: WTF!!!
OK, I am still waiting and can't wait for the new stuff and as far as more DSP goes, I have 21 DSPs now and don't max them out. Without new software emulations, the extra DSPs don't excite me. I can say that the UAD2 plugins are simply amazing and if this kind of quality becomes available for the ...

Re: A REAL GUITAR TUNER !!!
Really, no one has developed a GUITAR tuner/strobe tuner? I have a VST one that was free but it won't work during monitoring in Soundforge. It works in SONAR but I don't won't to record direct to SONAR. I need this in order to do some high quality sampling sessions of some real good sounding guitars ...
Re: WTF!!!
I know you guys love your Creamware stuff, as do I but this is bordering on the obsurd. I am waiting for SONIC CORE to develop 64 bit drivers for their hardware. Version 5 isn't going to be 64 bit yet from what I understand. Is it going to be another 2-3 years before we see that?

Re: Headphones for Mixing...
Another vote of for the AKG-701s.... after the first couple of hundred hours or break-in... these CANS are almost good enough to mix on....
However, be aware that they are OPEN design and are NO GOOD for live mic tracking because of the tremendous bleed coming from the cans....
But, to mix or ...

Re: Scope 5
I guess I will try to have both SCOPE and UAD2 live together on my machine. I won't need the 14 DSP SRB anymore, so at least one of my kids will be happy.
Thanks for the ideas,

Re: Scope 5
Well,
I never thought of keeping both the scope and the UAD in the same machine? I just figured there would be IRQ conflicts or something.
That is something to think about... for I love the routing flexibility of SCOPE and that is what I was going to miss the most.

Re: Scope 5
Instead of ranting and raving, I have decided to move to the UAD2 platform due to SONIC CORE's lack of performance. At this point, I am worried that they won't make it and I need to be thinking about the move to 64 bit (not for fidelity but for performance and RAM increase).

Re: Scope 5
Stardust,
Take a CHILL PILL. The reason I want 64 bit is only for the larger RAM addressability not for better sound. I am happy with 16 bit audio actually but I need MORE RAM for my large PROJECTS. And unlike X-ite1, I do not do orchestral work but rather huge authentic sample sets of simple BASS ...

Re: Scope 5
Been a long time user of SCOPE and Creamware (probably 10 years at least). And I love the concept and want to continue supporting this platform.
I enjoyed Gary B's video demo and this probably bought me a few more months before I need to abandon SCOPE.
