The clavia standard sequencer is only max 16 steps, but you can chain a few modules together to get whatever length you require.

It looks terrible but i find it a lot more intuitive and workable than ...

Hi

The way I've acheived this is a lot simpler than trying to rework the kick sound, as i haven't found a really precise sounding compression/verb combo (which is the textbook way of doing it) which works. The other textbook way is to duplicate the kick track into a kick with much longer decay ...

Lots of possibilities, not all intuitively obvious. Robot mode can be used for vocoder come antares autotune like effects. Pitch independant of time can be used to trick up convincing vocal ...

Yamaha's fm is something called phase fm, where you modify the phase of the carrier rather than the frequency. It produces a more musical fm sound than pure fm ...

Hi there

All religious issues asside - erm - I don't really think going totally computer is the way to go. A lot of people seem happy with it but I for one am not. So i got myself a patchbay, set up standard signal path, and pumped the pc up to as fat as i could afford. No i'm much happier.

There ...

STS5k is pretty cool - good update to sts4

The new filters are nice to have, one for every occasion, get some more movement into the samples, but still don't seem to go quite far enough on their own for really bent effects - that's probably a good thing though as if they were that nasty they'd be ...

This is one of the nicest synths out there for the creamware platform - something like a little 303-alike toolkit. But don't let that stop you. This thing is probably the only step based synth i've seen with enough functions to turn it into a propper instrument in it's own right. This isn't JUST ...

I've got the arpeg 2 and it seems to differ mainly in midi control. What that means is you get a bunch of wierd keys you can define to alter the arpeg function as it is playing. Handy things like swapping between inputting a chord on the kbd and using the kbd to transpose the arpeg. Most of these ...
