Is anyone actually experienced getting over the 4 Gb barrier with 8 Gb of physical RAM on XP (or Vista) 32bit?
I used to experiment with it but found most programs (even memtest apps) used to operate only within the memory "footprint" of the kernel.
RAM is quite cheap, but bear in mind that the ...

Re: SCOPE 64 Bit beta..........?
I think that was more the point of what homeboy was saying, that he wants the full virtual address space for his DAW so he can run other things.
If scope was made to properly run on Enterprise servers, then that would be cool, I remember this topic was also discussed at studionu.com and it was said ...

Re: SCOPE 64 Bit beta..........?
The plugins run anyway on the DSP and are 40bit floating point when it comes to signal processing ;)
It may be 40 bits as far as the DSP is concerned but insofar as the VST Specification is concerned, which both scope mode and native use, for example the lowest compatible version uses dual 32 bit ...

Re: SCOPE 64 Bit beta..........?
Well I certainly appreciate your perspective on it. I personally couldn't give to flaming craps about 64bit or 32 or 192, or whatever. I just want to use 8GB of RAM and not have 5 machines. :)
If SonicCore releases 64bit drivers, then I could get an X-CITE and run it off of my laptop in Win7 (or ...

Re: SCOPE 64 Bit beta..........?
Why does any of this matter or do I miss something?
I came here looking for information about scope platform which I since discovered was revived from an almost NDE to come near the top again with xite.
It's a misnomer of a conversation because eventually SC and anything that survives this ...

Re: Is MIDI control any better with 5.0?
I'd be interested to know what becomes of this, as coincidentally I have an x-station keyboard but would also like to know how a Bitstream 3x maps to Scope devices as at0m has mentioned mackie mode and I don't know the difference between 7bit and 14bit commands

Re: Is MIDI control any better with 5.0?
That's the interesting thing....
With UAD and other platforms (not ssl) you can actually install the software in advance and test all the MIDI parameters beforehand.
Would be really nice if Scope plugins, especially in "xtc" mode could be handled this way.

Re: Hey guys! Got a question about the Luna
Thanks Tom
What I'm not getting I suppose is how can you "embed" an application in scope "environment".
I'm used to using standalone apps like cantible and so on. These programs sometimes use WDM (i think) and sometimes ASIO, now if the luna has its own ASIO driver then how would something like ...

Re: Hey guys! Got a question about the Luna
Hey Greg, thank you for writing back.
Sounds promising about program switching and so on.
So how come you would need to switch from WDM to ASIO? Isn't WDM high latency or are you talking about playback? I know Cakewalk or sonar now uses something to bypass the windows mixer but I have not a clue ...

Re: Hey guys! Got a question about the Luna
Hi GaryB!
So because there is a new version that's the reason why people call it LunaII and there's no such thing!
So it's only scope home (soniccore) that has the extra i/o card and you must purchase it (adat expansion) separately if you have old creamware stock.
I can't believe it is not on the ...

Re: Hey guys! Got a question about the Luna
Hey tom glad to join!
I get awful confused about the products. I know theres a past here with creamware/soniccore and I've never seen a picture of a luna box.
I also dont know the difference between a luna 1 or a luna 2.
If you got any information about any of these products it would be very ...

Hey guys! Got a question about the Luna
Hello forumites.
I have a question for you guys.
I got a mate who has an old LunaII card and I'm thinking of buying it but on the website "extensions" page it has the adat expansion plate for 230 euros and I'm not sure if it comes with it already.
Anyone shed some light here would be useful ...
