I am also having trouble with sp/dif optical input. I am trying it with the triton extreme which only sends at 48k. when i connect them up and slave the pulsar, it finds no master...
I am still using 3.1 SFP - the 4.0 installer won't setup for some reason. I have all the ASPI installed correctly too ...

32 bit recording of vocals is amazing - I tested it once - recorded 24 bit, 32 bit w/ the 6, 12, & 18 saturation...and there is total difference!
18 is too much - sounds like clipping almost but the 12 is perfect...it really warms up the sounds and makes all nice and clean... :smile:

...I just got the Matrox 650 - its dual monitor w/ option for tv out too...

I had some simple troubles with it (that i shouldn't of) and since its been humming away w/ no problems...
the only problem is i'm wishing i would of got the matrox 750 (2 monitors w/ tv out)

...SX & GigaStudio Work Fine - SFP Does take lots-o-memory though - 74MB sometimes...but with 512 ram its not so bad...I'm working on an upgrade to 1GB ram and all should be fine...

I think you'll just need more ram to cope...

...Finally got an upgrade - was running a PIII 500, 384MB Ram, same HD setup & config since 2000 when bought pulsarI and now, FINALLY, no slow GUI! :smile:
-I will say this though, with the help of Planetz & Tweaks I was running 90 tracks of audio in Cubase SX w/ PIII System - others: 30 ...

...I was looking at quietpc.com's 400watt power supply but i also read in the forum somwhere that the antec supplies are really good too.
Does anyone have experience with each of the two and know what would be best to choose from? ...and how many watts do i 'really' need?

what would be some of the effects from not having enough wattage on the power supply?
how do i disable graphics support with the jumpers too?

I have heard of disabling the option for busmaster but I don't know where this option is located on the g650....

...I also read somewhere about the system needs at least a 250-300 watt power supply - i checked mine and noticed it has a 160 watt supply - Would it be a waste to get a power supply ...

-as i said, everything worked fine before i installed the agp graphics card so i don't think it is the usb or any other device conflicting

-Where do i get this manual - since this is a gateway, I don't think the 'mobo' manual comes w/ it. (what is mobo 'scientifically' anyways?)

I just installed the new matrox p650 on a new Gateway MFATXPNT ESX 500, 2.4 Ghz, 512MB Ram, WinXP Pro SP1(tweaked), Pulsar I, SFP 3.1c, 20GB, 80GB IDE HD, 80GB USB2.0 External HD, Intel(R) 845G/GE/GL/GV/PE Chipset. Everything works fine except when i start cubase sx - then I get the pci overflow ...

Right click on 'My Computer' & Select 'Properties' > Select the 'Advanced Tab' > Under the 'Performance' select 'settings' > Choose Advanced Tab > Under Processor Scheduling select 'background services' > Click apply and your finished.

...that kinda sux - I have started an album of mine and another artists @ 24/48 and I'm trying to keep everything consistent.......hmmmm
So 24/96 would actually make a difference then or is it just better to stick w/ the ole 44k?
