Thanks a lot Castol for bringing these Neutron devices to my attention! For some reason I had not noticed them earlier... I will be sure to check them out as soon as my exam period is over - not much time to make music right now

Thanks,
Cannibal

Yep, most probably you have your Pulsar in a shared PCI slot, in which case setting the interrupt requests in bios won't help you much. Insted refer to your motherboard's user manual to see which slots share interrupt requests and switch.

Hahahah, pretty good one I have to say

Rectifier simply inverts the phase of the negative portion of the signal (I think, if that makes any sense?). However, what it can output is more important: distortion and strange noise... I am not aware of that many devices which use this effect, but ...

Thanks in advance!

Hey there,

You must be using a VIA-motherboard right? If you are, there are fortunately some tweaks that can be tried.

Loading that huge samples into STS puts a huge load on the system (especially memory and bus) and I would definitely suggest coming up with an additional solution to prevent ...

First check Control Panel/System/Advanced/Performance settings/Advanced and see if processor scheduling is set to "Background services". If it isn't, modify accordingly.

Hope this helps, if not, then it's obviously something else...

Nice one

Of course it's hard to speak for others, but I am myself still using W98SE for audio just because it feels seemingly faster than XP on my low performance comp (1Ghz Athlon). Maybe a P4 would make a difference though...

I think it's also worth mentioning here that at least in XP you can edit the common group and computer policies to for example turn off auto insert notification, prevent windows messenger from running and a whole host of other interesting stuff...

Start/Run and type "gpedit.msc" is the ...

Come on people, you can't compare the operating frequencies of processors directly if they are based on a completely different architecture.

Well you can, but it doesn't reveal much of the actual power. It's a bit same as hmmm comparing value of something in two currencies only taking into account ...

Thanks defex for catching my attention! You are right, it is still available. The concept of it sounds very interesting, and I'm sure it will fulfill my needs. As a matter of fact, it is perhaps even a bit too powerful for my humble needs

Hey, I really have to wonder what kind of music are you people doing that you need so many voices

It usually takes me only perhaps five to six voices to finish a song, perhaps adding some additional noises and beeps from the sampler... In well-thought out tracks you really don't need that ...

No thanks Spirit, as far as I can see the level of discussion over K-v-R is pitifully shallow

It is clear to me that most people participating in the discussion there are warez people who have never actually used Creamware stuff... otherwise their views would not be so biased with no viable ...

This sounds sensible.

I also suspect than many people have problems because they didn't expect that their crap amd+via combination can't cope with Creamware hardware... and because they don't want to or cannot bitch at their computer manufacturer, they aim their anger at Creamware... which is all ...

Count me in too.

There has recently been a lot of talk on this at the Creamware homeforum and it is evident that there are a lot of people who would like to see CreamSeq come true one day.

Let's keep our fingers crossed, it might take some time though
