XP doesn't seem to have any advantage compare to Win98 SE for DAW with pulsar system...

I'm currently on Windows 98 first edition with pulsar 1 + scope srb on asus CUSL2, and i would like to know if i should upgrade on windows 98 SE ?

I've read this on the forum :

"On CUSL2:
Use Slots 1+5, force their IRQ in the BIOS, connect via STDM. Remember to reinstall the drivers/software after physically moving the cards around."

The question is which driver/software have to be reinstalled ? Because i moved the cards (pulsar1 and scope ...

I thought i just have to edit a system file to change the order of the board. What do you mean by " Add drivers which will contact the first card " ?

I have two questions.

My setup is Pulsar1 + scope srb on PIII866 CUCL II

1)Is it better if the two cards share the same irq or not ?

2) Do you think i should set the scope as first board (board=0) and the pulsar as second board (board=1) ?

I use pulsar 1 + (xlr) and mackie sr24/4. When i try to record a signal from the mackie, the input level is very low in the pulsar (meter at 0 in the mackie and about -15 db in the pulsar).
I use balanced cables wired from balanced mackie output to balanced pulsar input.

I wonder if it was possible to use the midi output of the modular step sequenceur with a non modular device such uknow07 ?
