Does anyone have the A16 Ultra jumper diagram they could forward to me, or even better yet a pdf of the manual? Mine seems to have walked off. Do private messages work on this board? Thanks in advance, jf

Well, the main reason I keep two nice mixers around (Allen & Heath MixWizard and Trident VFM) is that it's nice (even critical) to be able to choose from varying types of mic pres and eqs going from source through SFP to disk. You just can't replicate these factors 100% in software. Whether that is ...

So, if I understand correctly, if I hide SFP when tracking to a host app then my performance will increase noticeably?

I use Pulsar 2 and A16 Ultra, and am currently using Samplitude 7 (although I have used Logic 5 extensively in the recent past and ignored the same problem). I use the A16 lightpipe into the Pulsar 2, and set up the ASIO ins/outs accordingly in SFP to use all available.

Is it possible to adjust a ...

This is a newbie question--I just started using a MIDIman Oxygen to control my Creamware synths, and want to send data with the knobs for my Pulsar Synths (mostly neutron stuff, lo-fi, etc). Can someone point me to a reference for what MIDI commands control synth paramaters--res, LFO, freq, etc ...

I have upgraded from a Delta 1010 and am very satisfied with the sound quality improvement--recorded material seems to have a more spacious, open quality.

Just wondering if others have made the swich from other, possibly more high-end cards, and what your thoughts are. Thanks in advance. . .

This is for the Creamware--Logic user. . .

I'm trying to record Pulsar synth audio (MIDI)into Logic audio tracks. I had this working briefly with 4.8 but can't remember exactly what was different about the two environments, or Logic'settings. I access the Pulsar synths using Logic as the MIDI ...

So I can take a prerecorded track, route it out the A16, into analog effect, back into A16 and re-record in Logic without strange issues (impedance, etc.)? This is what I'm going for.

thanks a lot, justin

"A USB2 expansion, also in the works, will permit the A16 Ultra to be used as a standalone I/O interface with any computer system equipped with USB2, and will also allow it to be remote-controlled via software, making operation as an analog/digital patchbay possible." (from A16 Ultra page)

I'm ...

I've had mine about three weeks, and the sonic quality is killer. I record with a variety of mics, mostly through a Langevin Dual Vocal Combo or Allen & Heath Board. The sonic qualities blow my former Delta 1010 away, in presence, detail, and warmth.

I hate those tiny little meters on the front ...

That was my decision when I experienced the same letdown. The Ultra sounds great over the lightpipe. I agree, though, pretty foul to make the connections so proprietary.

Just by itself, seemingly at random. I'm using Pulsar 3.01, the U Know that came with it. It's pretty weird.

Anyone else get occasional digital "pop" noise when using this softsynth? I can view the noise from time to time on PulsarMixer channel strip--and I haven't had the problem with any other device to date. I think it's cool in it's emulation, but the intermittent noise really sucks.

Alright! Just solved the crackle problem; it was a sample rate conflict (A16 and Pulsar both set to master). Newbie error with the A16; didn't realize it was competing with the Pulsar. Perhaps this is part of your problem as well?

Thanks for writing. Man, even the audio recorded through 1-8 is snapping at me upon playback (not as severe as 9-16 though, where I can't even make the connection without wild digital hell.)

My background is ADAT source A and Pulsar2 Analog Source ( Pulsar 2 plus balanced outs) into PulsarMixer, as ...

Let me add to that last post with another problem I'm having--every time I try to connect ADAT B Source to Pursar Mixer (for ins 9-16) I get nasty electronic pops on connected channels. Channels 1-8 (A) work great. Lightpipe cables have been tested. Any suggestions welcome--thanks in advance.

It's weird--I'm only controlling externally as well. All the synths I'm using are Pulsar native. I get crazy stuck notes in both Logic and Pulsar, and have to reboot both programs. Hmm.
