Hi peeps,
I want to transfer 3 creamware Plugins from one card to another.
If I understood right, my source card will get a new Hardware Serial Number, and creamware will send me new keys for my unsold plugins.
The thing is that Creamware only has a list of their plugins (on "my page").
So as I have quite a few 3rd party plugins, what will happen to those ?
Cheers,

Plugins key transfer : what happens to 3rd party Plugins ?
Thanks Antar for your answer.
Bu I am a bit confused, based on the statement from Frank from CWA.
On the Key transfer Topic he wrote the following :
"Most complicated and time consuming is deleting the key from the "source system". Actually, the only way is to delete ALL keys of the source system (by giving the board a new identity) and then re-certify every single key that was on the board before and introduce all that to our "my page" database. In order to enable us to re-certify these keys, we first need to know what keys were installed on that system beforehand... "
"...by giving the board a new identity.." to me it sounded like the board identity IS the Board Harware Serial Number recognized by the Scope software, making every previous Key unusable if changed (that would make sense), thus forcing creamware to generate new Keys.
My fear is that if they based their new key generation on what is on "my page" (ie only creamware plugs), then I will loose all my 3rd party plugins (bye bye Sonic Timeworks and so on).
Now if they ask us to send the Scope.rgy file, then all registered plugins are in there ...
Antar have you asked for plug transfer berfore with 3rd party plugons ??
Thanks for your help man,
Cheers,
PS: of course I sent a mail to creamware, but as they never answered my 2 last mails (sent 2 months ago) ... I am lucky if I will get an answer .. I own 4 creamware boards and I/O boxes .. and feel so much respected as a customer
hehe !
I called Creamware France, and they were not sure about the exact procedure for 3rd party plugins, and they even told me that there is no more phone exchange between them and Creamware Germany (no more phone line available to them).. only mails exchange, also if they get any answer ...

The best person to contact is Ralf Bach.
his email is rb@creamware.de
he is the person who handle keys and key generation codes. Asking other support personal in France and other countries won't really help as they are not the ones who handle this type of requests, Always go to the source or ask for the source.
contact Ralf and he will explain this to you.
But lots here have switched keys and their SN did not change but new keys were issued.
But then I may be wrong. go ahead and email ralf at the head office for this delicate matter and come back and tell us how this is done. Best of luck

Proximo, in my case I phoned with CWA and asked for help cos I wanted to transfer my Sonic Timeworks plug-ins too. (I changed my Pulsar1 to a Scope Pro.)
They helped me. Seems CWA has a good connection to STW. They disabled the old key strings from my Pulsar1 and after a few seconds (I gave to CWA the serial number of my new board) I got the new key strings.
When you get a new number for your old card, you should tell it to STW. I'm sure they'll give to you new key strings.
Good luck, Thomas

Thanks Antar for this contact.
I just sent Ralf an email.
Will let you know as soon as I get the answer.
Cheers,
@Herr Voigt
I answered Antar before I saw your reply, thanks for helping mate.
But if I read you right, STW should give me a new set of Keys for their plugins ?
That what I was afraid of ..
That does not reassure me about some plugins like "Terminator" from Phonoxone that I really like, that are not supported anymore as the developping company has dissappeard ...
(even though it was developped by M. Olsen from STW).
Creamware owns the key generator algorithm, and I would assume that they could give a new key to any registered plugins located in the scope.rgy file ?
Ok let's wait and see ..
Thanks anyway for helping guys.

Hi,
creamware will give you new set of key to run their device But this should not make your 3rd party key disappear.
your 3rd party keys runs off the SN of the board so if the board retain its SN then it should not matter if your Scope software change it keys.
But again Ralf will put an end to this theory when read this post or answer your email.

Hello to all,
when we handle a re-registration of devices, we change the internal counter ( not the hardwareserialnumber ) of the card. After this the 3rd party plugins need new keys also.It is not possible to integrate 3rd party devices into the allkeysfile, but you wont loose these devices. The new keys for the 3rd party plugins will arrive via email.
cheers
Ralf
PS : please write to Info@creamware.de for the next 2,5 weeks, because i'am not in the office for this time.
I will let you know, when i'am back.
