Not a parking fine though. A big fat "bad manners" fine. The EU-commision courthouse has just made clear, that the proclaimed fine of 497 million € stands to be paid.
Microsoft got the fine for linking Media Player to closely to the OS, making it harder for other devolopers to get a market share. The Commision therefor asked MS to sell two versions of thier OSes in the future - one with and one without mediaplayer (as if that would help anything, "Norbert No-nothing" will still get the easy one.
The commision wanted to give the MS competion by releasing infroamtion about the OS, so other developers can compete on a more equal level.
The court has been set in a way, so the fine and the sanctions will have emidiate effect, though the final decision can not be made before years from now.
