Just saw this thread over at KvR about the ridiculous and disgusting money-grabbing tactics of Monster Cables. First there is the news article and also an actual case.

Appalling behaviour.

Does that mean we can't dance the Monster Mash anymore?

Halloween is going to be dull this year

edit: The prime minister of Canada will now sue my parents for naming ME Paul Martin. *dang*

wow, if that's for real that's pretty shocking. Just goes to show how big corporations can pretty much do anything they want these days. They cannot have thought they would ever win a single case if it went to court but even so legal bills will have to be paid. I feel sorry for the small busineses who have to deal with these maniacs.

The Dutch Post company has succesfully claimed in the past the exclusiv right of the typical color red they use for ages...even colors arent free these days...

Next thing you know all the snow falling in Quebec and Ontario will be the property of the U.S. government because the moisture originates from the Great Lakes... But will they supply shovels?

Does that mean that "Monster Trucks" are now "Really Very Big Trucks"?

Glad to see that the case was dismissed! Common sense prevailing for once...

Soooo...I can no longer refer to the "monster" in my pants? What will I say to the ladies as an opening line from now on?

Ok

Here's my idea for the day:

Everybody get a dictionary and pick a word.
Copyright that word and sue everybody you meet who uses the afore-mentioned word.

I choose "the"

Then I would have to sue you for using the letter "e", my lawyers will get in touch with yours.

I choose...the spaces in-between the words!

*counts cash rolling in*

I wonder if I could extend this to include pauses made when people are talking?

Paul, how much for the 'the' I used above? <- and those two too!

Once there was a (dutch?) succesfull band called the The...so take care, probably the is already claimed, take another word!

Tlking about 'the The' on scool's place was an exellent way of learning English speaking with the tongue between the front teeth.
It were wet days those days

Wasn't "The The" a single-person affair?

That's what I seem to remember...I think there was just one bloke who did all the playing, programming and vocals (?)
