I remembered a while back, someone put together a fantastic list of words to describe different frequency ranges, like "muddy bass", or "silky highs".. does anyone remember what the post was called or who it was by? I tried searching, but couldn't remember anything specific.. not even which forum it was posted in.

This sort of sounds like what you are after, don't know if this is exactly it.

close.. but not it. It's a specific post on planetZ that I'm looking for... it was a list that had "too little" "just right" and "too much" accross the top, and went through each frequency range, with words we use to describe the effect.
So, for mid bass it might be
"thin" for too little, "body" foe just right, and "boxy" for too much.
I hope the original poster reads this.. that'll make things much easier. Whoever it is, please come forward.

Here is, what one aknowledged luthier has to say about people's use of words:
"The most remarkable thing I discovered with this test is that there is a big difference in one man's "Bright", "Bassy", "Sustain" etc. and another."
