VST and ASIO support now...I am seriously considering trialing this as a potential replacement for Cubase (as many here probably know, I'm not enamoured with Steinberg).

Is anybody using this version yet? Am I right in thinking that I could replace Cubase with AL5 and use it OK with Scope?

I'm playing with the demo, and it's crazy what one can do with it. But the approach from Live is totally different than the one in more classical sequencers like SX, Sonar or Logic.

Live's loop based sequencing makes it IMHO, although excellent for mangling pre-made loops, not that flexible for from-scratch music production. Nomen est omen, Live is perfect for making a set on stage, but still lacks the detailled linear editing IMO. I wouldn't use it as a replacement of the other sequencers, but rather as addition to it.

But then one gets to the Rewire domain, of which I'm not a big fan... cfr. the Plugin Delay Compensation issue in the Rewire host for multi-track Rewire clients: The client (Live) cannot know which plugin/delay to anticipate for if these plugins are on the host's mixer. A work-around would be not to use any plugins in the host's mixer for the Rewire channels, but just to use plugins in the client - Ableton Live 5 has PDC now

Just my 2 cents...

Sounds like another great tool to use with Cubase. I'm using Cubase and Reason. I mangle the sounds so much that you would never know they came from Reason. I was going to get Ableton but the price has gone from $300 to $500. That makes me not want it as much now. Reason keeps going up too. Bastards!
