help getting rid of pops

My mixer is broken so for know I'm outputing direct from my scope cards. Only problem with this is the nasty pop I get in the speakers when opening or closing a project. Is there any way of getting rid of these nasty transients?

you may turn on your monitors after opening a project.

And then turn them off when closing...

No good for the power supplies. They're active speaker by the way without volume controls of their own.

Monitoring directly off Scope with Active monitors the way you are doing is *the* best way to monitor Scope, so you're doing nothing wrong. Scope when it starts pops because of the digital sync (afaik) & it's something which is annoying for us too. We regulate it when we can be bothered, by switching off the Tannoys & back on when Scope is loaded the following day

I use a pre-amp before my active speakers. That could be the answer for you as well.

indeed - and totally cheap if the usual home cinema stuff doesn't fit

I use a NAD 1020 which also provides an excellent vinyl pre-amp, 100 Euro incl shipping

Insertion of third party amp = coloured sound. But work with whatever you wish folks.

We've got a Nad 3225PE & it's a good amp for hi-fi use, but in reality, it colours the sound for monitoring purposes in a big way.

I guess I could save all my projects with the main mixer fader low. Would that help?

Ok that didn't work. I've run the output thru my patchbay which means I can switch between normalled and open.
