Yeaaaa, finally, after about 5 years, I’ve got a new Creamware plugin, THE VECTRON.

Impatience:
Most human beings are so impatient that don’t take the time to get deeply into something, or pay attention with some degree of concentration to something, for a long period of time. These are some of the reason you don’t still have THE VECTRON synthesizer.

This incredible piece of software is not less no more than astonishing… silky, strong, soft, analogue, extreme digital, vintage, string, anything, comes out of it. You can create completely new sounds never heard before in this revolutionary platform of sound design.

I have had it for a day, so I can’t say much yet, but it’s time enough to tell you all that the LFO possibilities are beyond any other VS.

FXs are also extremely professional and sound beautiful. The chorus is so warm and fat, but I mean FAT!!!

To be able to modulate in time, transforming things in gigantic proportions gives you a new age of music, nobody can deny. I have always been surprised at the small amount of success this synth has had among the Z community, and I have always criticised this as a luck of awareness of what THE VECTRON is. I have to repeat it today, and I can do it much louder as I have it at home right now, and can tell… What you are waiting for people, you MUST own this synth, is a must!

Most of you have had the opportunity to buy several plug-ins for the last years, I know because I read the Z quite a lot. But for circumstances, I could not get one till now, wow, what a joy it is…

I have so got to agree...I played with the Vectron player and was imediatly imperessed with its sounds, when I fisrt got my Scope. What a great sound I thought. But very limited in wat i could do.
However I just upgraded to the SnS pack and got the full Vectron....OMG its a different kettle of fish....I dont use a huge amount of syths in my recordings, mostly pads or 'Hammonds' (btw the B2003 is outstanding) but after playing with the Vectron for a tiny amount of time, I can see the possibilties are just incredible. Synths may make more of a show from now on.hehe

Nestor, I mostly agree with you. The only one thing I've noticed, but it can be a subjective feeling, is that I found it a bit cold (but just a bit).

Something like the feeling I've got when listening a rompler like the KorgNS5R: the first impression was: "wow how may sounds, amazing! But well listening maybe they are a little too midi-stile".

Hey don't misunderstood me! I really like the Vectron and I think it gives you a fantastic palette. Maybe when the tracks are recorded in a mix, they need some nice eq-fx working to sound warmer.

imho your impression is true, and it probably reflects the sound aesthetics of the time the wavetable synthesis was created.
Many Vectron presets even emphasize this by delay and chorus fx and sound stunningly different when used dry.

It needs some time, but it's not too difficult to cut out pieces of own samples for new basic soundstuff - and of course the modulation routing with realtime controllers opens yet another dimension for new creations, even if one starts from one of the original presets.

I understand what you mean Lima. Now, as Astro says, all you need is to create your own patches. The core of the Vectrom is CREATIVITY to my understanding. I think it can be as open wide as you like, sonically speaking.

I have tried it with other instruments in a few fast mixes and the distinct sound makes it stand out and enrich the characteristic of the whole. What I mean is that this sort of softness you are talking about, does not exist much when you play the Vectron patches with other more traditional instruments, it’s strong particularity makes it be heard anyway, and clearly. I love this silky soft sound, very, very much. I have to say again, that this is my preferred synth of always.

As an example, think about pure butter; ok, if you take some good cheese an bread without butter, the difference is not “essential”, but if you put some butter onto the bread, everything tastes better. It increases the taste of cheese and bread as well, and makes of it a sophisticated soft taste. In the long run, everybody would prefers a good quality pure butter than a strong garlic, you know what I mean, you never get tired of it.

I think there is no limit to the sounds you can create anyway, I have found some pretty nasty, aggressive sounds too.

The only dilemma I see when using the Vectron is that is quite hard to get acquainted as there are so many parameter and LFO possibilities, I am a bit lost for the moment. But, difficulty here is not because the interface is complicated or cos of a bad layout, it is because it is huge. In this case, this complexity is absolutely thrilling, as I know this instrument will give me musical life for years and years to come.

I must admit I'm brand new to Vectron, because I've got it with the x-mas great deal, so I don't explored it in detail and my opinion was based on the preset included, not with a deep use of it. So, watching the manual and reading your comments, I agree with you.

Now I absolutely need to go to my studio and try it deeply!!!

I have been saying the same thing for about 4 years, but don't think I know how to use it in depth either. Just like you, I've got it a few days ago. What I say is based in having gone through it several times, and played with a demo too, there I got in love and understood the endless openess of this baby

I'm having a box built in the states for me as we speak.I already have the Vectron player in that box from a previous install. My new install has the VDAT,PRO-12,etc. w/ 4.5. Is the whole Vectron coming to me?If so by using your own waves, could I send external synth signals through its engine also? Please tell me this is so, for I wanted to purchase a hardware Prophet VS for this reason, but in my experience CWA is as close to hardware as you can get. I'm looking for extensive modulation capabilities, and inputs from external synths. I'm actually having problems letting go of some of my hardware, and would like to extend their lives a little longer.

You da man.I will investigate Solaris core, if it adds that capability, I will be ready for my new experiments.If Vectron has it I will have fun with that too. X-Y-ing around with my dream patches in mono and poly will give me a unique sound at my new jobs in 2006. Much more synth work in the gigs I'll be doing.

Solaris Core and Solaris ( very soon to be V4 ) have vector synthesis unfortunately the one cycle waveform oscillators of Vectron, Lightwave & modular are not available in DP so not in Solaris but in the meantime you have a massive lot of sources to vectorize and use as modulation source or direct audio output !

Of course you can use any source you like to create your special patches, this is all about the Vectron.

I will definetely not keep old stuff, I know we all love instruments, so I do. But believe me, if you want to be practical, get SCOPE synths. The Vectron is much, much powerful that its own predecesor and inspiration...

This is good news my friend. I really didn't want to buy the VS, and then repair it. So the Vectron that was just installed on my 2nd updated box will be exactly what I'm looking for. Back in the 80s, we had Chers' producer, who was an excellant pianist also. He made me do three tracks of synths , which were identical parts. The attack of the Memorymoog was attenuated into the swirling XPander, which was attenuated into the release sound of the heavily chorused ARP String Ensemble. I could barely pull this off live, for I sampled it into my EIIIxt back then which was nowhere as full as the tracks he summed up. He was ahead of his time. But I can do this in Vectron. Fuckin A!!! Cause I found the Korg Wavestation, and Yamaha stuff to be for preset riders, and digital stuff didn't impress me then, except for my DX7,DX9, combo I used for EPs, and bells. 20 years later, I can use Scope to pull sounds out of my head. I should have bought these DPs back in '99 when I was in Vancouver. I wouldn't be crying to you guys for so much help.

I haven't read it yet in the manual, but do you know how long can a wav file included in the fectron can be? Two seconds, three, 10? Which is the maximum lengh?
