Well, I'll just keep mixing my stuff.
I consider it a learning experience.
Besides, I'd rather be sitting next to the person who is mixing so I can interject my preferences every once in a while.

But that's me...

Good luck to them, though. I think it's a good idea once the fine print is taken care of.
Are we listening?..

Hi Z ers,

Yes , interesting concept .

I just emailed this to them , below ....

How do I know you guys are any good ?
Send me an MP3 of what you consider to be an example of your good mixing and we'll see .
Regards,
Michael

...but then I suppose he could send any old MP3 , how would I know? ...oh well.
Mixing is so subjective anyway ... a mix this 24yr old genius may consider his brilliant work, others may consider rubbish .
The only way around all the hype is to have mixed a hit song .... mix it and they will come .

Cheers ,

I don't understand the advantage. At that price you could go to a local studio and be there.

I like to see you being reflective, Z people, so making difficult for outsiders to put their finger in our mouths… no children here… That’s nice of course and I admire your deductions so nobody can cheat us.

Now, it is perhaps too early to judge with certainly what is going on, it’s not easy without references to know if this people are honest or not. Giving a thought, I don’t think they are there to get your money and run away. How long could they do it anyway… not much right?

The price is expensive for those having how to mix, like we do, but for a group that wants to master a home demo to be presented to a serious business, it could be interesting as far as the mix is pro quality.

Anyway, I would personally “never” go into business just like that… without references about the person who mixes, and least of all through internet, but that’s me, perhaps there are people ready for this interchange. I think it is very cold not to be able to explain what you want, and it is quite difficult for them to get your idea thought mails only, you need to know the person, ideally.

My two cents

Nestor, an anonymous 'business' with someone located in a former USSR state and Western Union payment just HAS TO ring the alarms.
Even more as the charges would represent a 3-5k Euro (!) per track if projected to (say) German economic conditions.

Nevertheless Yoch has updated his pages with the requested information - and opposed to many other facilities in his country he doesn't come over with rock bottom rates.

cheers, Tom

I think you might be taking this just a little too seriously Astro. My bet is that this is some sort of dry joke. Kinda like going onto an RME forum & offering 'professional' mixing services. Either a joke or too foolish to be taken serious IMO.

I was just explaining for Nestor (located in Chile, btw) why a European reader would consider the original offer fraud - regardless of what was intended.

But I see no reason to take the startup announcement as a joke.

- after listening to the examples I'm afraid I'm wrong with the above statement

I offer my mastering skills for one tenth of any fee they ask
I'm based in Holland, if you pm me I give you my phonenumber and my bussiness registration number.
If you're a poor mother of several children living in a hovel I'll do it for nothing.

Now if that doesn't push them out of the market I don't no

I understand Astro, and I think you are right, I mean, about being careful from offerings comming from places like URS. Of course.

only if those offers come completely anonymous, as the first version of that site.
I wouldn't want to diss the former USSR region by default.

maybe I should have listened to the 'examples' before writing any comment at all - honestly, I didn't expect it THAT bad.
Compared to the planetZ music section this is pure horror.

cheers, Tom

eh,
could be worse...
at least it looks like a "legitimate" effort to make a living. if someone had no skills of their own, they might be very thankful. pretty good rates if you can get them, though....kinda gets me thinkin', i've got at least as good an equipment list....

possibly, but it's a contradiction in itself if the site advertises 'best possible result for each individual track...' and then all examples (but one) are pressed into the same overemphasized-mids-my-favourite-reverb-and-beautifiers scheme. If there ever was a character in the recordings, it was squeezed out of it.

Since I used the internal sound of my internet machine, I first suspected it might be due to the AC97 codec.
But a quick check in the music forum revealed that it was not the case.

In particular 'Energy & Lust' by BasicPitch and 'Sorgemod' by Thalamus are at least(!) a full class ahead
I intentionally picked those two because I know they are not entirely working for themselves.

cheers, Tom
