In case you care...
I found myself many times trying to play fx samples or masters in 24 bit, where opened in Mediaplayer, it looks for a codec and then returns an error. Hmm...bahh...it's a nono.
<B>SOLUTION:</B>
1. Download this zip:
http://www.kraftwerket.dk/AudioTypeConvert.zip
2. Copy the included file, AudioTypeConvert.ax, to <B><i>c:windowssystem32</i></B> or whereever your windows installation is.
3. Now go to your start menu and press <I><B>"Run"</B></I> (maybe defferend in your language).
4. Type this:
<I><B>regsvr32.exe c:windowssystem32AudioTypeConvert.ax</B></I>
(if you changed the path in part 2., you need to change it here too)
Windows should say something like <B><I>"DlRegisterServer in c:windowssystem32AudiotypeConvert.ax succeeded"</I></B>
<B>VOILA!!!</A>

Winamp plays 24-bit files. I often use that.

vlc mediaplayer plays files up to 32 bits, mpeg videos, etc. without the need of installing nothing in your system.
