How would you compare OptiMaster to Timeworks compressors? Is it worth the money?
Anyway Timeworks has an issue with Pulsar 3.x software

Hey Alex, I got Timeworks working with V3, email me if you need some tips to get this working. I haven't heard much about OptiMaster yet, but wait a few weeks, there will be more info from users then, I plan on giving the demo a good run through, and comparing it with the Timeworks mastering compressor (hard, as the soft introduces phasing errors for me) when I get the chance in the next few weeks...

On Timeworks web site
http://www.sonictimeworks.com/purchase.html

there is a statement:

"Please note, the Pulsar plug-ins are currently not working with Creamwares v.3.x software"

I've been waiting for license strings for 3 days, so I wonder if they still support pulsar/SCOPE products

How would you compare Timeworks and Creamware Master Reverb?

How would you compare Timeworks and Creamware Master Reverb?

Nice question. For the TimeWorks EZverb, masterVerb smacks it around simply because it is more configurable. For the Timeworks 4080L vs. masterVerb, I still think the 4080L is smoother and more adjustable (whereas the masterVerb sounds very similar at many settings, almost like its always the same 'room.')

I had the opportunity to test the forthcoming PT 96K FREE verb, and it sounds even better than the masterVerb (wait, can I say that?) so definitely check that out when it (finally) comes out, I guess it's tricky to use the new V3 preset lists, etc, which is what's holding its release back still. It should be out any day, then you could compare those two yourself, post your opinion for us all!

Timeworks probably won't be updating or supporting their DSP plugins anymore, unfortunately, as much as I'd LOVE to see it (as I paid a pretty penny for these) and yes, I am extremely disappointed by this. But I do know the jedi-tricks to getting the Timeworks running on V3, even if it is officially not supported. Then of course, you won't get official support for V3 issues so you'll have to deal with that yourself.

There is no way I could go back after using V3, as the PulsarMixer is just amazing, even better than the SCOPE/SP mixers (only for the moment though  ). Also remember to download the V3.01 update, it's on http://www.infinitevortex.com near the bottom of the page, should be a nice speedy download if you're on broadband.

4080L is my all time favorite. Never heard such a smooth reverb. I bought an STW pack too (quite expensive). Then they stopped support. Grrr... The Compressors and EQ's still work fine, but the 4080L needs some workaround to install. I abandoned it from my current setup/installation, because of redraw problems mostly (the 4080L window tends to split in 2 parts)

Hope you get your keys soon.

Yes there are some graphical issues with the devices in V3 but the sound still works. The compressors worked fine for you Atomic? Something's up with the Compressor X's controls, one of them (been awhile) seems reversed on mine, and the Soft Mastering Compressor introduces phase errors. The EQ sounds good, but is a little difficult for me to use with it's interface, so I find myself using PulsarMixer EQ and compressors, and then using the Timeworks Hard Mastering Compressor.

We'll see if the OptiMaster eventually replaces the Hard Mastering Compressor for me, but I am also looking at the Orbitone Impressor bundle to replace CompressorX at some point.
