Is there a VST plug-in metronome that I could use in SX?

I know we already have the internal metronome, but I was wondering if we could get a more precise and flexible metronome, which could perform different accents and the so.

In a Google search, I found this one called Professional Metronome:

Do you know anything about it? Or do you use any other metronome VST plug-in? Cheers

Why not just use a cowbell on the downbeat and a rimshot for the other beats on channel 10 of a GM module?

I guess you are not kidding Paul, but it sounds funny  Well, that's a posibility, why not, I want something sounding different, and hopefully with costumisable accents, that would help with my timing experiments.

Another way would be using custom wav sounds.
You can set SX to use a wav file instead the beep.

Transport Menu -> Metronome settings, choose sound, at audio click click on the black bar to choose a wav file.

I thought about your question and remembered a Rod Morgenstein tape I heard in the late 90's. There was a piece of music on it with different bars in compound time. The first rendition was with the keyboard player(I still don't remember who, maybe T. Lavitz). The second rendition was only the keyboards with a click track. It DOES sound funny but it does the job as far as accenting the downbeats(cowbell) and counting the rest of the bar(rimshot). Besides, who is going to hear that strange metronome but you, eh?

Nestor, the really interesting aspect of using Paul's method within SX (although it needn't be GM sounds) is that you could easily apply a shuffle, groove or simple stutter to your click track (advanced metronome)

Ok, that’s it! Now it makes sense to me, because this is what I want, something more inspiring to play with than “pee” “pee” “pee” “pee”, that could let me use some variations in accents. I’ll try this

...and for the obvious, its easier for a drummer (in example) to relate to a cowbell and a rimshot than cubases standard metronome

and you even could take a slice editor, load a ggroovy drumloop that fits your currently preferred style, put the corresponding midifile in your sequencer, and choose or change the songtempo you like to improvise in...
With Phatmatic Pro (Bitshift Audio) I can do that in a few seconds

Yeh or invite a local drummer round to play live drums or one of the other 10 dozen ways of doing it.

I found this interesting little pluging that may be handy for those looking something differnet like me, or that uses Ableton Live:

I would suggest that you make your own click in an audio track by loading the sounds you want.
That way you can have any rhythm you like with any accent you like.
This is the way all studios in Greece do it - no matter if they use Nuendo or ProTools. It is the most useful way, especially when you have to do with exotic rhythms like 11/, 9/8, 7/8, 5/8, 15/8 etc, or if your music has a lot of measure changes..
