(BTW this is my first post) I'd like to hear from any Australian's on this list who have recently purchased a Creamware card, specifically a Luna II. I'm probably gonna go ahead and get one within the nextt week or so but I'm a bit unclear on one thing. If I buy one and it doesn't come with the latest drivers/software (which as I understand is ver.3.01) does that mean I'll have to purchase the update before I'll be able to d/load from the Creamware site?
Any replies.........thanks in advance.

anywayz, anyone can use V3.0, but cards sold after august 2001 come with ProPack and STS3000... That's for Pulsar cards, but I guess the same is true for Luna.
Remember: All Creamware OS updates are free for life, hehe. Only included plugins my be different if you bought/registered your card at different times. (most of the time, there's some 'free offer' for registering, I recently got Poison that way)

Pulsar2 and Luna2 (project hammerfarm) user. Great cards in a G4 733. I have some issues with the Z-Link dest module under Pulsar v3.01 software though. I use the cards to route all the digital audio signals in my studio.
I have a ProTools MIX+ in a G4 450, 2 Yamaha O2Rs and loads of outboard and synths all connected to ADAT I/O, Z-Link (when I get it working!) and SP/DIF on the two Creamware cards and I/O daughter board. All the patching is done within the Pulsar environment. Extremely flexible. ASIO synths pumped digitally into ProTools....
I dont use the Luna software. I tried it ages ago and it worked fine. I think there are still issues with Creamware cards in Macs, but the problems seem to be resolved far more easily than under Windows flavours.

gort- i'm from Adelaide too, used to be in a band called Speedboat there in early 80's. Also one called Dragster in mid-90's, with Scott Rowe. your setup sounds boss, mine involves pc, pulsar 1, a16, jazz bass, double bass, tuba, trombone, euphonium, 5-string, Maton M325, telecaster, banjo, harmonica and spoons. !) In Perth for a year or two now. Rock on regardless! W
Well I did go ahead and get the Luna II, and I'm really glad I did.........what a great card! Great value for money too, got the 'project hammerfarm' for AU$895. I'm gonna wait for a bit before I decide on further I/O, with the A16 ultra just around the corner....
Now I'm just waiting on Creamware (de) to supply me with the v3.01 key so I can go ahead and install.

Round1, you might want to hold onto your studio gear for a little while yet! It depends on how much you intend doing with the luna card at one time. You can run out of DSP power real quick. Although I must admit I don't have a luna card so maybe they are different to the Pulsar cards.
I mainly use my system for recording bands and without using dsp hungry verbs or synths, I found myself running out of dsp very quickly. I've just recently upgraded the dsp for the second time!
Anyway, have fun! These cards are highly addictive.

At the moment the DSP limitations of the Luna II aren't an issue. My main requirement was the realtime routing (I love the open-ended type design...brilliant), so the DSP FX and synths for me is just a bonus.
I tend to record most things flat (eq-wise) and dry, usually compression is the only effect I'll 'print' when track laying (especially vocals).
So for me, the Luna II with (only!) 3 DSP's, has enough headroom availble to do all I want it to. (More so now that CW supplied me with the v3.01 key!) The whole system has a much nicer 'realtime' feel to it compared to my old soundcard.
Next on the shopping list is the Logic Control........bye bye analog mixer......
