Well, somebody had to post a World Cup thread at some point!

So who do you think is going to win the cup this time around?

I'd *like* to see an African nation win it, but I don't think they're good enough to do so yet. Brazil are obviously always in with a shout, but my prediction is:

FINAL: Germany vs. EN-GER-LAND

Germans win on penalty shoot-out after extra time

As the Yanks get better, others will be angry. But I fell in love with the Womens team with Mia Hamm and the gang. They are responsible for bringing such a great sport into the forefront of USA sports. We need more variety in our sports. So when the rest of the world wants to kick our asses, we will only get better.

I hope the most entertaining team wins.
Teams that don't score goals should be disqualified
Anyway, today the show (i hope) begins.

Where did you get that info? They`ve got a bunch of special army services just to protect the USA soccer team?! As far as I can say your team is more save than our Bundeskanzlerin.

Ugh, that stuff's minging!

I only know of one person who actually likes it, and he's pretty weird; lives on beans on toast so he does!

oh it's all good!
i don't know any of those players anyway....

i think the foul shower is more of a unique south american experience, although european soccer stadiums have been known to be pretty wild as well...

I bet all the teams wear clothes made in China, all the gadgets are made in China etc. BTW, my brother bought me once a souvenir during his trip to Arizona - the Route 66 sign. Of course, made in China

O.T. but anyway .
The striker in a Scottish first division team [or whatever} got knocked out in a game . The trainer ran up to the the coach and said " he's got concussion , he doesn't know his name " The coach said " Great , tell him he's Pele and get him back on ":-)

We could use that coach for the norwegian team, not good enough for WC, of course, because i can not see any Pele here

By the way, why does footballplayers almost die when thouched?

After 1. round, Spain entertained me most.
(of the games i have been watching)
