scope project doesn't show samplerate...

Hey there! I'm having issues with one of my 6 dsp boards: it doesn't show any samplerate and behaves oddly, like mixing up i/o, making my luna box flashing and making noises...

I have 2 boards, I tried them one at a time, one is fine, the other behaves as described, and the 2 together sometimes work, sometimes not...

Has anyone encountered such problem? Is it fixable at home? Thanks!

Well, I assume you checked your system for any IRQ sharing and you connected both boards with the appropriate S/TDM cables.

You could try to carefully unscrew the outputboard from the pulsar that is causing the trouble, check for loose contacts and put the two together again.

Did you already think of heat? Two boards can run extremely hot, especially when mounted next to each other. Try adding an extra fan to your case. I experienced some strange samplerate behaviour as well everytime I inserted a second or third board. Two extra fans solved my problem. Hope it works for you too...

Hello! Thanks for your reply! My setup has been working quite well for months, and only now do I experience this behaviour... I'll double check everything tomorrow. I usually have my computer case open, so I don't think that heat dissipation is a problem, although I moved recently so the environment is different... I'll investigate further and report soon! Thanks!

I'd also guess a mechanical/ground problem.
The already mentioned IO board, the IO cable connector (short circuits inside can have this effect), a firmly seated card (put it off and in the slot again), solid connection to the back of the case.

Well, my case too was always open and I still needed the extra fans to clear my problems. At least try it before sending the card back to CW (fortunately a new fan will cost you almost nothing....).

Hello!

I had the same problem in the past and from time to time it re-appears.. Cleaning and reconnecting the STDM cables or the IO Cable whip always works for me

Well well, I put back the second (suspected faulty) board and managed to install a fan which blows directly between the pci and graphic cards and it seems to be stable again! Heat buildup is not to be underestimated. That's good news! Thanks for the tips!

I have not the need 4 it now but had 2 DP cards that were experiencing the same problem. A dual fan PCI card worked great 4 this. Cyberresearch.com Dual fan PCI 01. You can set the direction and speed also in software, only 40 USD but a good investmest to protect a 4000 USD DAW.

I have similar problemi in one of my scope card,the problem is it in the output card of scope,I have substitute one condenser in output daugerboard and have resolved,I thnik the problem is it in the daugerboard output card,if you have more than one cards try to remove output daugerboard aqnd use only dsp card,if the problem finish is the output card
