World Cup Predictions, Who's Going To Win?
I reckon if a player goes down and wont get back up immediately and there aren't any bones sticking out of his leg then play should continue but he should be taken off, without interfering with the play, for maybe 2 or 3 minutes [with a replacement on]. The disruption would be a pain in the arse for his team and it might stop the bullshit just a little bit . On the other hand maybe everyone could gather round and give him a good kicking.... calling him girly man or something

Good Point,
I use to love watching the women around the world play thanks to the USA womens team with Mia Hamm from the 90's and early 2000's. Those gals would get their nose, heads, and ribs cracked and jump right back up. The mens teams have had formal training in theatrics and it shows when they play, as they beg for fouls when they fall down. I have watched the games, and the best one yet was England vrs. Germany. So far that was the most competitive game, as the men on those teams truly hate each other, thereby the competition is stiff and fast. They don't go rolling around and sniveling when they are hit, they get up and hit back. I say that we make the hockey teams of the world play soccer, this would be a far more entertaining series of events.
Italy scored one today for the USA since we couldn't score for ourselves, and we still couldn't win. Truly pathetic, as I played soccer all my life and am embarassed at the game today. I hope McBride gets a chance to really play and bring us home at least a victory against a powerhouse team before they get their asses kicked all the way back to the states.

I hope planetZ doesn't loose some of it's Italian members because they committed suicide then...On 2006-06-17 14:07, scope4live wrote:

They seem strong over in the creativity thread today, newbie guy from Italia was answered by several of his countrymen about Scope. I remember how you guys helped me last summer, now I'm a disciple. Astro I'm afraid I will always be asking you guys questions, as now I will be getting SDK and trying to create little things that help my particular situation. And there you go again changing the topic. Meanwhile back at the ranch.....
I think it will be England and Brazil as in 1986.

It sure was a good ploy by the Brasilian striker who scored. His theatrics payed off. Just before he came down field, he was limping as if he wasn't going to be very effective, then he did the old give and go. When players get tired they just pass it off and pat themselves on the back as if a small celebration is in order, this chap passed it off and immediately beame open 4 the rebound. What a concept. The Aussies laid down at the wrong time. Oh well. I hope England hates them as much as they hated the German team, that would make 4 a great game.
Congradulations to the Spaniards. That was a classic example of getting you nose punched, and coming back with the old 1,...2,...3,...!!! They really kicked ass, watch out 4 these guys, as they are the ones who probably survive the Run Of The Bulls in that little street in Spain. True Conquistadors.
Hey Stardust,
In Las vegas, we are truly Romans. We love the UFC fights, as the "Pro" wrestling is so lame. As is the audiences who watch it. I was almost publicly beaten by a couple of inbreds who love these guys and actually believe the crap they are seeing. Me and my son were laughung and saying that hit should have drawn blood. This angered these guys, as they thought that this wasn't staged??!! Amazing that here in the USA we have so many mentally handicapped people walking the streets. I did learn a famous move that night though, I believe they called it the front rolling dick ear jab, or something along those lines.
This is probably why soccer won't ever take off here. We have too many more interesting sports to choose from. Since nobody scores a goal in the first minute of a game, it simply bores most of my countrymen to death, even the inbreds.

I'd rather call it a classic example that a first class team like Spain hasn't got a chance in hell against a(ny) perfectly organized team...On 2006-06-19 19:48, scope4live wrote:

Tunesia's style of defense almost reminded at a ballet, the way they evenly blocked space and simultaneously circled with 3 or 4 around the active Spanish player - with stunning endurance and discipline.
Must have felt like soccer in the woods for the Spaniards...

They'd never find a way through if Tunesia hadn't felt safe too early and became careless - imho Spain was very lucky to win that game.
congrats anyway, it wasn't their fault

cheers, tom
Astro, I'd rather say they got exausted, that kind of defense is hard to sustain for 90 min. Just look how many more faults and yellow cards they started getting as they couldn't run as fast. And I guess they are more interested in beating Ucrania (which they are competing with for second place in the group). In other words it wasn't a final for them to risk some red card on their very good defense, which then wouldn't be able to play against Ucrania.
Anyway, you are right that they completely annoyed our middle players (Xavi H. and Xavi A.) and they couldn't do those wining passes they are famous for as comfortably.

Who saw Owen's knee pop out yesterday? *BOOM* Oof, that must have hurt plenty
England have some serious problems to sort out! I'm just glad we're not meeting Germany in the next round, that'd be a quick ticket home methinks.
Looking forward to tonight's game though, Argentina vs. Holland, both have looked pretty hot so far. I'm predicting 3:2 to Argentina. sorry Hubird...

Brotha'Man Astro,
I noticed what you said about that choreographed defense of Tunisia, I found it stimulating to watch, but it didn't last as long as they needed it to. Reminds me of some of my SFP projects where I have all my audio lines, and MIDI connections all looking so beautiful, only to find their ineffectiveness in the project as I add more modules and devices.
