Hi y'all.
Has anybody ever tried to get their sequencer to boot in sequence *after* SFP has fully come up? Is there any way of ensuring that SCOPE starts before Samplitude, under Windoze XP?
In short, the problem I'm having: I need Samplitude to wait until SFP has initialized the MIDI drivers before it starts itself up. Right now the sequencer frequently starts up with a dialog box saying something to the effect of "MIDI Device not available". MIDI is thereafter unusable with Samplitude. until Samplitude gets shut down and restarted.
/Begin long story/
I've rented my P.A. gear and a computer out for the local Shakespeare in the Summer festival. The sound operators for the two shows are not technically inclined, so I can't just tell them to start/restart Samplitude each night (which works but I've already explained how to do so, but they never remember -- fair enough considering how many other things they have to do to set up lights etc in a short time span).
I'm using STS4000 to play back samples during the 2 plays, and Samplitude to provide pre-/post-show and intermission music. So the sound operators need to be able to press "Play" on a MIDI controller and have Samplitude start the music.
/End long story/
I think all I need is some way of delaying the startup of the sequencer on bootup. Is there some way to do this in XP?
Or if there are any other ways of getting Samplitude to wait for SFP etc I'm all ears. If anyone has any suggestions / advice / links to other threads with similar topics, I'd be very appreciative.
Thanks PZ folks! I've missed y'all...

P.S. STS 4000 is incredibly powerful. One show has ~ 800 megabytes of samples loaded, and the only thing that is close to maxing out is the machine's RAM. The other show (Macbeth) has nearly 100 samples and 4 speakers for surround thunder + battles. I continue to be amazed at how powerful and reliable CW gear is. Incidentally the machine is running on a single Luna II / SCOPE Home card. She's a tiny little workhorse, but strong for her size.

What you need to do is wait for a minute or two and then kick in samplitude after scope has been launched this would mean another intermediate program which will launch samplitude. This program you'll put in the startup folder.
