I say give eric a brake, i think the fact that he feels attacked on the forum makes him defend himself with nasty posts.

These guys are sure to be passionate about thier plugs. If I felt someone was attaking my creative process I give them what for too! It must be difficult to remove yourself from that and stay professional. BUT, they should stay professional! If a topic is raised that requires support, then it should be given. If a topic is raised that seems to be a nasty attack, thenit should be ignored.
If the plugs are that good, the demos and mp3's should cut out any of the negative.

I haven't been on this forum in a long time.
The first post I read was the announcement of the DAS plugins. I was extremly impressed by DAS's willingness to listen to comments and suggestions by potential customers, and to respond, almost in realtime.
I am certaintly not going to deprive myself of a good plugin because of a couple guys arguing on planetz. Quality music is the bottom line, and I appreciate anyone who creates quality tools to help me make quality music!
Can't we all just get along? HA! I always liked this forum for its freindly and helpful atmosphere. Let's just start over! I have learned alot from all of you in this forum, and I thank you for that. "SCOPE UBER ALLES" DR

i feel back in kindergarten somehow... i think both sides of the "war" should think about their words. doesn't matter if it's a language problem, a technical problem, or a personal problem, noone should attack the other(s) like this. this is just my little swiss view, i know... fact is, the reverb sounds good and with the gate advice, it's even better than i thought at my first view of the plug...

and as a apology, DAS could offer us a free plug

stay tuned...
Roman

A development company insulting a (questioning) potential customer on a public forum? ...around a well deserved discussion about basic issues of their products?...

DAS, brother, you lost me as a customer too, unless you publicly apologize for such a childish and absurd attack against members who HAVE EARNED respect and confidence by helping coutless people here over the years. Do you think you can come here and treat people we appreciate and respect like crap and expect us to shut up and do business with you? I don't know in what dream you live but I send you all my love so you can wake up and see how you are wrecking your own ship with your uncontroled anger and TOTAL, SHAMELESS LACK OF HUMBLENESS.

I think it is time for you to stop fighting a war that you can't win, breathe deeply, look at the Light within and set things straight. Seriously, I'm with you with this, I can't condemn you, for we all have emotional issues to deal with and I sincerely encourage you to be humble and accept the teaching that Life is sending you through this situation. I wish you all the best and hope you will do what you need to before it's too late.

Be at peace.

...and afterwards to say: "i hope that mr cooper will do something to stop this kind of sh..t post"... Man, you really got some serious nerve here. I'm impressed.

(but smiling!)

Sorry, I had to say it, it's too grotesque!

no need to shout Eric - didn't you remove your own insult (a poor man without work who cannot afford plugins and is jealous) from the respective post yourself ?
[edit]
 I've messed the posts, so cut out the wrong quote to keep it shorter
thanks, piddi
[/edit]

you may have noticed that I left the first post which contains all the fact, their sequence and the reason why I found your reaction unacceptable.

You represent a company here and your treatment of my person was as unprofessional as one can imagine.
From your side it doesn't matter if I'm right or wrong. In Germany a proverb says that 'a customer is king', in Japan he's even considered a god...
It's up to you as a company to clear any situation related to your product and always stay in control in a polite way.
This is a much stronger position than your emotional outbreaks.
We, and in particular you are not on stage here - this is business.

Your business btw, not mine.
I have almost all Scope 3rd party devices and I'm well informed about sales figures - a good part of these 4000 posts you laugh about were arguments for people to buy plugins and not just talk around.

I know how small your plugin business is.
I would never write anything to put that down.
If I were sarcastic I would add that it's not necessary...
There is always a lot of talk here about new releases, but when it comes to pay for things they all run away.
Except a few enthusiasts addicted to sound who will buy anything (if it sounds good).

Honestly Eric, I'm a professional software developer for 25 years and I once considered Scope DP myself, until I saw the sales figures of plugins - no, thanks.

This topic is actually very, very simple.
You don't read much in english, and you didn't even read my posts correctly - you just picked out some words and your brain suggested 'hey, that's offensive'.
Possibly influenced by experiences in other forums ?

Whatever it was, you didn't take my observation about the sound problems of the demo serious, because you thought I was a troll - 4000 post, nothing to do etc.

The same observation by KWild was taken serious, because he had less posts, is a producer etc.

That different treatmeant of 2 persons is all this thread is about - and it's contained in that one single post at it's beginning.
This type of treatment IS inacceptable as a customer relationship of a company.
And for that reason it is posted here.

It has nothing to do with you as a person or any of your artistic abilities.
You don't need to fall in love with me but take the business advices serious.
I've learned that stuff - half on the sales front - half in expensive courses

Unless you understand about that, I will never post anything in context with DAS again, and I've already removed ALL my contributions in any such thread.

This is not a personal affair, I don't need an excuse and I don't want to win over someone. Maybe the following helps:

I will never forget that Saturday morning when a man in leasure clothes, even a bit dirty, and 3 children entered our (computer) shop and asked this and that, the children playing meanwhile as children do...

Dear Eric, what would you have done ?
Follow your first impression (or prejudice) and try to get rid of him, as you have better and more important stuff to do ?
You'll probably guess the bottom line...
3 days later my collegue (who had talked to the customer as polite and patiently as always) said 'do you remember the guy in Addidas with the 3 kids ? I have a date with him, he's the CIO of a 500 mill. company and considers us for supply

That's all you need to understand.
If there are language difficulties I'll try it in french - if it doesn't make any sense at all for you might consider a book about that part of business relationship and public image

cheers, Tom

Read very carefully please >>>> :-

*ANYONE* who's having a prod at DAS & their actions here is walking on a rope because there's always a chance that by treating them like this that we could loose them completely from the forum!!. That's something which would be a real shame in my opinion, as they seem very interactve on the forum & MOST CERTAINLY worthwhile having around!

So what if Eric over-reacted a little? They're new to the forum & to this level of developement & were heavily provoked by astroman's comments & bad language towards them (which is gone/deleted now of course). Is Eric's over-reaction a good reason for you to deliberately & spitefully try to make them look even worse with all your fancy dances with words?

Now after the damage is done & god knows how many insults have been thrown around you try to make it look like you're actually helping them & giving them advise Astro?

unbelievable.

I hope you're all VERY HAPPY when DAS are GONE from the forum & don't post on PlanetZ AT ALL.... You'll deserve one almighty round of applause for your knowledgable contributions!!
