I will be using SFP in a new way which will require effects that are found in the TC Helicon. Algo's on that unit include an accurate 3 voice intelligent harmonizer, and a 5 voice unison thickener. I could just go buy the unit I suppose, but SFP developers are quite talented here, so I thought I'd give it a whirl on the Z first.
I will be using SFP reverbs for the first time also, as I want this to be an all in the box solution, plug and play as they say. I have been using hardware FX through SFP on my synth DAW's, but last time I mixed vocals I used the Lexicon Plate Algo. Any great SFP plates I should know about?

Cool,
I've used Lexicon hardware verbs before MIDI came along and have quite a collection.
All of the PCM series through 1999, and the little MPX's, as they have great ambience algo's 4 synths and samplers. But vocals need that sense of space/clarity. The old trick of delayed chorusing on the tails of plates is still my favorite.
Warp 69 'eh. Sounds like a twisted sexual position. Is this a take off from the 960/480L's that they were calling the 4080L that I've heard about?
Trust Your Testicles,

Trust Your Testicles,
Just checked out the Sonic Timeworks site and found the 4080L that I heard about, and saw the P100. I will be tuff to please as I still use hardware FX. But I just hate these demos with the drop outs!! The tails are where I listen to how well the decays fade into silence, or how the noise floor rises, etc. Last unit I bought from Lexicon was the PCM 91 which I thought was a steal for 1400 USD. The old PCM70 set me back 2500 USD back in '85. So I guess 100 USD 4 a unit with quality of a hardware model is parr for the course these days.
Olive @ DAS huh? Never heard of him. Is he one of those short tempered French guys? Just kidding. He is one of the guys designing/building an FOH / Monitor mixer 4 me now. I really want a top notch model of the Lexicon sound. I realise that the algo's are not perfect recreations of ambient spaces, but that Lexicon sound is just too sweet on my ears. I even have an old 12 bit Prime Time which sounds so silky and smooth. Once you get used to those boxes they are hard to let go of.
I am building a drum sub mixer which will use Gigastudio 3 Orchestra and it's great sounding GigaPulse Pro convolution effect, that has mic placement too. This with SFP FX should be a drummers dream box, as the Larry Seyer drums are the meatiest amd most dynamic drum samples I ever heard. This combined with a good mic set ( D112 for kick is a must )should give a drummer endless options, as I tire of the generic Alesis drum sounds which I hear every drummer who is half hip using it.
I will give the DAS unit a good look see. Thanks 4 the tip.

Yes I agree to the AKG for a 70´ Led Zeppelin like kick sound.
If you can experiment around with an additional Beta 91 inside the kick.
Also a Sennheiser E602 is worth a try, if you like it very deep in the lows with a good kick.
I gave them a go last week.
Sounds very interesting what you build up there, I wish I could be there.

Yes CW,
It will be a jazz/ fusion synth group. The Sax man and I had a great go around with this group last year. We were playing all of my favorite stuff, and I gave it up to be a musical prostitute in a dance club. This gig is fun and the pay is extreme, but I grow weary of dance, dance dance every fuckin' song. If they didn't pay so well, and have some many incredible peices of ass dancing every night, I would have been long gone.
I really want to wage war on Las Vegas again as I was told you gotta have a chick singer, blah, blah, blah, or you won't work as much. That was baloney. I was turning down work. I actually hate singers, as they always seem to think the show revolves around them and you must be quiet when they sing, etc. I will build this band back up again, as I could easily do 3 gigs with the right gear, and players. My little hussie band will be totally automated very soon w/ DAS's new mixer, I can then begin to play the 8 to 12 shift with my fusion guiys, then jump down the street to see everyone dancing and kissing and snorting. Once my contract expires at Hells Gate ( The dance gig ), I could shoot for a large paying contract in hopes of them letting me go, or they might be dumb enough to pay my price. Either way I win. I just want to play what I really like and have several SFP DAW's raising the hairs on my head. Drums, Saxes, Synths, everything in the mix with SFP!! GaryB is going to be very busy this December I'm afraid.
