I really don't understand, why do you ask me what I do, and at the same time you're telling me that it has something to do with how I feel? It makes no sense to me.

How do you do means how are you feeling today, how are you, do you understand?

No, I don't, because if you were to ask somebody about his life, why don't you ask him "How are you feeling?"
