Geico Caveman Commercials In USA
Geico Caveman Commercials In USA
IMHO Geico has hired the best Ad Agency for their stupidly funny insurance commercials. The music is a new addition, but was absolutley perfect. I am speaking of the one where the Neandrathal was holding his luggage on the people mover as he passes an add about how Geico online is so easy to do, that a caveman could do it. The add is just totally insane to begin with, but the casually played soft synth in the background makes me think that it was the perfect choice. Almost as good as the Zappa sounding music written for the character Mel Gibson played in Conspiracy theory. These people who are doing the music aren't displaying their chops or displaying their version of what they like, but was amazingly accurate sections of music tailored for the moment. That's why they are sitting in nice studios w/ temperature controlled rooms making 10 times what I make.

That tune on the people mover is called "Remind Me" by Royksopp. I was floored when I heard it on the ad, because the album they sourced it from was about all I listened to my year of school.
The actual version used in the ad is the original mix from the highly recommended album "Melody AM", (I think, don't remember the ad perfect, but I do remember the vibraphone-esque lead). Here's a video of the a slightly more dance version of the same track off the bonus parts of the album http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBvaHZIrt0o Neat video.
I prefer the original mix though. Much smoother with the vibes. There are some other really awesome tracks on there.

there's a seperate ep with 4 remixes I guess. Can't find it on amazon, not really shocked.
Anyway. Go now, check this out through your favorite purchase or download medium.

Amazing how we educate, and humor ourselves as a group. Another example of how vital this forum is to me. Obviosly the last decade of our college graduates are actually learning a viable trade instead of recieving a degree that has little meaning.
UMSman, this is really cool music. Thanks for the link.
One important thing I can learn from this is when I write music, I need to remeber that people my age age very rarely purchase music, and the people my sons age, and younger are all over the place with iPods, and of course the Ultimate Ears 2 and 3 ways with wires, which are the same exact model as the wireless ones I will be using with the DAS Modular mixer. Only with wires.
For years UEars catered to the stars only, then the consumer electronics market. He made his first multi million dollar deal in this niche.
Anyone seen the caveman with his therapist, and his mom on the speakerphone?

yeah, just saw the therapist episode the other day...
and by the way the dude speaks... he's not the same caveman as in the other episodes is he. Or, are they all different guys?
I have no idea why it's a geico commercial, but this series is a classic. I think the caveman's much more famous than Geico.
