Need some advice on obtaining some webspace

I have some sounds and images (not much) that I want to present online and need a suitable host. At the moment there isn't much and I don't have a website designed yet so this is certainly early days I guess for now all I need is some free webspace but googling that brings up loads!! So I guess I'm after a bit of advice, as I'm a newbie to such things and really don't were to start.
I guess I'm going to use frontpage or some other like software to design as I havn't the time to code html.

Have you checked with you ISP? Here, nearly all ISP's provide 50MB webspace for customers...

For example my http://users.telenet.be/at0m is like that. Ok, it's got an ugly name, but hey, it's included in my account. And they don't ask questions on bandwidth (i once hosted SFP mirror on a couple of those accounts) and it's pretty darn fast.

Also they usually just provide webspace: no guest write access can be enabled: no guestbook, no forums, etc. For that you'll need a dedicated account...

I'm with Tesco in the UK and I have 50Mb webspace for free.
I've just decided to make use of it and have a website.
I've bought a piece of software Web Easy 6 which is MUCH cheaper than frontpage and seems quite good, intuitive and easy to put a website together with.

I intend using it for my wife's paintings, some bits of mp3's if I ever get the time to write something again and a few other things, so in that respect it seems that we're planning similar things.
As At0m says, your ISP generally only provides you with webspace so if you're thinking of guestbooks, forums etc - check first.
The option I'm thinking of is simply to have a "Contact Us" email link to a separate email account than my normal one (my ISP allows 5 email addresses).

I'll try and have a go at this web easy thing over the weekend a set up a quick site - I'll let you know how it goes.

Nestor is right for really good websites, and I'm impressed with the examples of his work that I've seen.

having said that Irrelevance, you seem to want something simple, as I do.

As I said earlier, I've bought Web Easy 6 and took it out of the box this afternoon.

Now, you can all laugh as load as you like but I've put a demo website up by 9 p.m the same day (cheap and nasty dot com)

My ISP (homechoice) offer email but not sure about webspace. In fact I think I will try and call them again and find out, as there are faqs on thier website that hint at this possibility.
