Anyone?
Thanks

have you called up the project window? Have you routed Pulsar2 MIDI A source to the MIDI (left side) connector of a synth, anf then connected the out L and out R to the Pulsar2 Analog Dest module ?

Have you then called up this device in Pulsar (double click) and seen if it is getting a midi signal (usually some light will blink on) ? most devices default to omni so channels shouldn't be a problem...

More info ?

Hope none of this is insulting to your abilities, but:

Do you know for sure you midi keyboard works ? Does it activate some other synth or device ok ?

Does Pulsar make any sound without the keyboard? For example, insert the ModV2 patch Dtum+Bass+chords. This plays without activation from a keyboard. Can you hear the sounds ok after pressing "play" on the pattern sequencer ?

Are you connecting the midi monitor to the midi A source? Does it show something like -005: 90 51 36 Ch01 Note on nn:081 v:054, then under stream about the same except "note off" ?

Did you notice whether the device midi light blinks on for receiving midi ?

Is your amp turned up  ?

Myself i have a SL 161 which requires midi 1 and/or 2 to be activated (there are 2 midi outputs on this keyboard). Once i lost an hour or two trying to find the cause of the problem when it's the keyboard midi transmission that was not activated....

Hi.
First of all i thank you very much for your answers. I have tried this : midi keyboard is tested (just a dummy board, with nothing to it), i have even tried another one. When im routing my sequencer midi signal (Cubase) back to a synth and taking it to "audio sent", im getting the clicks from cubase out in my speakers!(synthezized). In my desperation i have tried to change my midi cable. I have even tried to connect the midi cable to the "out" and "through" on the board (they could have marked the &¤%/&# wrongly  ).All audio sounds are okay....

So is this a defective card ?(midi in) - i´m beginning to to suspect that!
Regards

I have run into the same problem with midi!
I am sure about the connection and the project, but no sign of midi!

I didn't have the time to lok closer at the problem, but I use another port for midi, and route from Cubase to Luna. Works fine!

I don't know about you, but i have antoher
soundcard "with midi" installed. it can be that this card "Steal" some midi port when you boot your system(I think i have read something about this! But I was probably stoned or something:)

Do you use XP?

Remember the difference between "Pulsar Midi Source" and "Sequencer Midi Source."

Pulsar Midi Source is the *HARDWARE* midi port connected to the card. You will not see this in your sequencer unless you have the MIDI port connected to a MIDI interface, then it would be named after the port number you've got the Pulsar connected to on your interface - ie, if Pulsar is connected to port2 on a 4 port MidiMan unit, you might see "Midiman 2" in the sequencer, which would correspond to Pulsar Midi inside your project.

Sequencer Midi Source is a *SOFTWARE* midi port which is activated in your sequencer as "Pulsar MIDI 1" usually (or "Creamware MIDI 1") You can adjust the number of software midi ports also in the Driver properties - default is 2.

If you're stuck then forget about your sequencer for now and just set up a simple routing from keyboard to device to analog out. You need to veriy that the simple stuff is working before fiddling with your sequencer.

Hi all.

I have (ofcourse) started with the simple stuff: plain pulsar - source->synth->analog -with no luck.

Maybe it could be my old souncard "stealing" the midi - i have removed it, cleared all strings in regedit, unistalled it, so there should not be any problems with it. I will return with more when i have tried reinstalling windows (98).

Thanks again.

Hi All.

Problem solved. Got a new card and now everything works fine. Turned out to be a combination of my midi-keyboard noit beeing able to run on batteries(!), new card and a couple of other things that i haven´t figured out yet.

Thank you again.
