probelm reinstalling scope cards

Post by raztalove »

Okay, I just rebuilt a new system and I am having problems after reinstalling my pulsar 1 and powersampler card.

mobo: dp965lt
2 gig kingston ram
evga video card

On a fresh install of windows, I first installed the powersampler card, then the driver. Next I installed the pulsar, conneceted the stdm cable to the powersampler, and installed th driver for the pulsar.

The powersampler is on the pci slot closest to the video card, the pulsar is on the very next pci slot.

Next I installed scope 3.1c.

Everything seems fine, however when I adjust my latency from 24ms to 13ms it freezes. I was nomrally running at 6ms in the past. Any idea why this could be happening. I havent even installed my sequencer yet. Literally, the only thing installed on this fresh version of windows is scope 3.1.

Any info would be great.

Thanks

I actually fixed the problem. I accidentally installed the mobo audio drivers and they were sharing the same irq as the scope so I disabled them.

I think things are basically pretty good right now, however my only question is about the different "usb universal host controllers" which seem to be sharing every IRQ I have a card on.

Is that a bad thing? I havent fully tested this thing out yet, but preliminary investigation is not showing any signs of conflicts when I boot up cubase and my scope card at the same time. Anything I should watch out for? Any suggestions that can make this setup better?

Thanks as always

you need to disable the usb controller that is sharing with the scope card. you can do it right in the device manager.

Should I disable the usb host controller that shares the same IRQ as the UAD-1 as well?

I'm actually kind of confused when it comes to those usb controllers. Do each one of those correspond to a usb port on the back of the mobo.?If so, how do I determine which one is for which physical port.

I appreciate your patience guys. Its been a while since Ive had to put a system together.

yeah, i'd disable that one too.
the controllers work with most or all of the ports. one or two controllers are all that are needed for most or all of the ports to work. each controller can handle several devices. most modern motherboards have many more controllers than are really necessary.
