srb booster (14 dsp) question

Post by bosone »

i will maybe buy a scope srb booster (14 dsp) if i sell my 4 dsp booster card....
my question:
i have pulsar 1 and luna, and i think they are the "old" version, since i experience PCI overflows with 5 masterverb pro and problems if i go under 13 msec delay.
(i have a asus p4c800deluxe with xp well optimized)
if i mount the scope srb will i be able to obtain better PCI and latency performances?
thanks!

I have tried that a while back, and can tell you this.

You would need the I/O's of a Type II card to achieve lower latencies. In that way the DSP's of the type one could be harnessed for their power only.

As far as PCI conflicts, I use hardware reverbs to have more power for live synths and modular based projects. I have no experience other than the test w/ MV, where my bandwidth doubled from going to a Type II.
