has anyone noticed when u use 24bit asio, and dithering before vdat, that there is no audio from the dither plug output?, and do most of u record 24bit in vdat? or 16?

Huub, if you take away all your forum police reports and off topic photo renderings, you have a total post count of 5... talk about poluting the forum.

drama or not, but the question is good :-)
you're not starting a discussion, you have a technical problem, and you ask why you don't get any signal out of a source.
The added question about VDAT and other habits of other owners of VDAT, regarding the bit number when recording, comes more close to a general forum, yet this is rather questionable.

You don't believe my statement?
check this out, all these threads started by you are totally wrongly addressed.
A quick search on your name gave me this result:

So, it's even the most of your threads are in the wrong forum.
If you check out this list there's absolutely no doubt about the wrong addressing.

Your biggest problem seems to be that you confuse the general scope forum with the problem solving forum.
Not every problem or specific question you may have is a general scope discussion, usually and commonly they never are.
You even just puts typical (specific) questions in the subject, instead of opening a discussion.

Want some typical examples for the General Scope Forum?
Some are existing threads, some are not:
I'm not too critical, as you see:

- 32 or 64 bit processing on Scope
- first impressions with Scope (I'd say OT, but that's ok)
- The future of SC (tho from my own not my pref)
- VST vs. DSP sound quality
- A sequencer on Scope, yes or no
- no artical about SonicCore in magazins (not my choice...but ok)
- Scope needs more non-typical (non-substractive) synths
- An external Scope box with Firewire?
- GUI behaviour of SFP
- Scope needs stereo aux sends
- Opening a mac case (wrong by me, and stated as such in the thread)
- Stock devices, you like it a lot?
- Scope Snares/Percussion
- Tutorials...or stuff
- Is SFP mode time consuming?

etc., etc.
The accent in the General Discussion forum has obviously moved toward a tech forum.
I regret that. It 's under Planetz level.
But the list above goes much further, monsieux :-)
nothing personally tho, you just asked :-)

I know what you mean, and I realize that negative side effect of my protesting against odd forum behaviour.
Yet I'm not after domination, which the police word suggests of course.

I like the debate, and I like good arguementing (preferrably with some humor).
The general scope forum by nature is a place for that.
Not anymore...

I will never have a problem with, say, Stardust in the mac vs. pc discussions.
There is some rhetorics and some fun, but it never crashes.

What I badly dislike tho is bad arguementation, and the absence of sense.
Wild posts don't make sense, and a lot of 'wild posts' make Planetz more mediocre, if you ask me.

I think posting specific problems in a general discussion forum is just ugly :-D
Not (only) irrational or confusing, but ugly, as it is wrongly communicating, but that should be me.

I wish opening the general scope forum would show a nice list of relevant topics going on on the platform.
Keeping that forum clean would simply be more inviting to make new relevant posts or threads.

At the moment it's just a do what you want forum.
A good discussion of general scope subjects can hardly be found now.

Hope this makes sense a bit :-)

Wired, I haven't tried that ASIO24>dither>VDAT stream yet, but if that is repeateble it sounds like a bug eh. In scope, regular devices do not know where they get connections from, so the result should be the same from any source. If you split the output from the Dither to VDAT and another input (Channel or so), does Dither output something there?
I record in 24bit always, be it to VDAT, ASIO or Wave Dest.

yes, the output of dither works just like it should without going into vdat, ...vdat just doesn't see the output of dither

Have you tried inserting a device between ditter and VDAT? something like SpaceF's switcher (Don't recall the exact name, but it is a device that has 2x8 inputs that can be switched, and 8 outputs (not that it matters, but it's made for VDAT operations and doesn't process audio and doesn't consume DSPs). You can maybe use it to 'bypass' the ditter bug.).
