[update2
Added smoothing like DeFilter2
bigger more readable knobs
[update:
added tuning and glide control panel
added pulse width control
fixed non working decay xy switch
fixed non working glide control]
This little monophonic synth
has similar archirecture to the 303 thing but with joystick morphing.
It is not meant to be an accurate 303 emulation but it can make some similar sounds.
most of the parameters are self explanatory, exept:
the wave knob fades between saw and square.
the "diff" knob affects the tone of the filter , you will probably not notice much unless the rez is up.
have fun!

What a fantastic little synth. The XY controls really get you tweaking parameters in ways you probably wouldn't if you had standard knobs. The range of sounds is wide, the quality is first rate, and you can quickly construct or experiment. A nice buzzy, cutting sounds. Pity there's no presets.
But to offer such a device for free is most generous and a real gift for Pulsar users.
I think this is better than the two 303 emulations out there and certainly gives some other commercial devices a scare.

i'm impressed by this synth. Found it a vey straight-forward thing. Small interface, great range of sounds.
I especially liked the effect that gives this synth it's brilliance. Dunno how you've done this, DeFeX, is this the 'tone of the filter' Diff? Never heard such full frequency range bassline with a Pulsar synth.
Got to go to bed now, tomorrow I'm gonna do a song with it. I like that little one!

i've had the opportunity to test the updated version... i've heard a synth speak... amazing... the Micro's warmth and depth... improved modulations... and more... keep yer eyes wide open...On 2001-10-14 15:12, defex wrote:

I love free kit thats worth using, and using this I will be.
It is this kind of synth that will demand that devices we pay for either continue to improve or come down in price.
Wicked for coarse Phatty bits. Great work.
PEACE! ontiK

If you like this little synth check out the w-version <a href=http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... 16&7>micro w</a>, with the digital waldorf oscillators (there will be a new version of W out at some point keep your eyes peeled!)
I just tested his new (bèta) filter device, which is very much playable. Dynamics are real smooth, even with it's strong filters. Dunno how you do it, I think it's PFM, as my aviation instructor says.
DeFex, you're a freak!
And look on http://www.neutron7.com, can't wait to test that Rhino device!! I love SpaceF's Moonizer's modulations, but it had insufficient quality filters. For now, DeFex is specialising in Filters/Disto's, he's looking for the best quality effects only. Later, he'll probably imply them in his existing synths, which already sound incredible. I hope people will reward you for your work, Defex. I'm quite sure they will.
