If you have any specific adapter id no's or such that I could use to search for a recommened SCSI adapter...such as the Adaptec ack-68p-50p-e adapter and a decent cable, then let me know, but if not then I will keep trying anyway.
I just had a quick look - I had forgotten how painful it is buying SCSI cables. I guess I was lucky that I had one lying around when I needed it :) I've never used a SCSI adapter - should be fine but to be safe I'd probably recommend getting the right cable to start with. I'm using the exact same SCSI card with my K2500 and it works great!

What Card did I Buy?

I just purchased this off of EBAY - indicates 14 dsp - triple adat and sync plate. The seller indicated SRB in the title but this one has I/o. I am confused. The price was right even for an SRB about $750 US. Is this likely the professional Card? or an SRB with expansion interface?

Ha - I have a similar issue going on with a cable whip. Somewhere around $30 to ship a replacement from Germany to the US.

Aren't all these cable parts available in the local regions? These aren't custom items are they? The cable certainly isn't I don't know about the connectors though.

The cost of doing business I guess.

Charges and management fees were very expensive and I was treated like a fool.
Only when I got the package home told me that I had to pay more money (more than half of what it had bought)....

Arn't There any actual distributers thats physical

Post by Jarvis »

What's going on here guys are there not any physical distributers anywhere in the world. What i mean by that if i say want to buy one of their new a16 box or a a new card, i have to order it from the website and pay courriers and the like to get it here, i mean not even in europe. I know in australia we have no distributers of their product, we use to be able to nip down the local music store and pick up or order what we need. If SoniK Core do not have any physical distributors, this is the first thing the company need to fix.

UK customs are charging not only an import duty (which you'd expect & accept), but also full VAT @17.5% on practically all second hand goods coming into the UK. It's a total disgrace because if you privately buy 2nd hand goods from someone within the UK, you don't pay VAT. That said, UK customs have different classes (catagories) of goods & there's a particular code for the electronic class which sound cards fall under. If the sender puts the right code on the customs declaration form, you won't pay VAT on say (for example) a 2nd hand Scope card from the US.
