The Ethnic trend....

Post by zangsta »

A nondescript eastern-sounding thing....

A little thing I put together , for fun and the learning process.
Just a few samples..

And now I dedicate it to Jimmy V !
Man, you are amazing! :o

Are these loopsfrom a site, or creations of yours?

They're excellent.

I imagined myself walking through a market in San Francisco while gazing in amazement at the wierd bugs and creatures they eat.

I love this stuff and want to know more.

BTW, my only critique is the noises that I encrrued near the end of the song.

Perhaps something was lost in transmission.

Check it out.

And tell me more.

I am a student in this thread.

I´m just listening for that noise, haven´t heard it yet.

This track is purely loops I´ve found while surfing or libraries from
CD´s coming with magazines I´ve bought.
I had no keyboard at this time, a few years back.
This track was done in Acid Pro 4, I think, and the loops
can be edited to the tiniest part. And put whatever way you chose.
They can be made to stick to a gridwork of your own choise (like
quantizing) or free timing.

Well you and Paul, and Hubird have pointed me in a right direction apparently.

A year ago I would have gagged at the thought of playing some one else's music.

But watching my son and his friends construct tunes out of loops in Magix 7.0 has opened my mind, and also the loops and re mix methods I have seen here.

For me, a closed mind is a sad existance.

I could be more productive by accepting the fact that I have a tough time doing a Brushed Drum Kit, hence the need for a loop.

Members here create great productions by using loops of sounds of styles that theyu do not have,

I will be doing the same by opening my mind a little and digging in.

I will have fun making these in VDAT thoughm and loops I cannot createm I will insert as audio and change their tempos, opr time stretch them.

I tend to have trouble finishing songs that I compose. These tools will be invaluable there too.

Right, Jimmy,
this is an interresting way of working.
It´s a very convenient way of getting a song going, and at any point can
people with actual playing-skills add a track, in whatever way they choose.
A sketch that can grow...
I lost my studio around -93. sold almost everything to cover debts, and had no instrument except my accoustic Fender.
So this was my way of getting back into making some music again. Loops...
Two years ago I bought a cheapo strat-copy packaged with a tiny amp.
A year ago my mother died and I inherited a little,
got a base, a novation Xio synth and a tiny mixer, AND ...three Creamware-cards...!!....and here I am !!

And now I´m struggling much like you, I don´t feel
comfortable yet doing everything on the computer.
Still need to learn one sequencer well enough to do what I want.
But I´m getting there, slowly.
I need an income now, to take it to the next level, I aim to be able to record and produce myself all the way .
And not spending the time recording demoes and whatnot for others, just to pay my bills. Only do that when I feel like doing it.

Cheers

That being said, I like this mix :)
