Post by Smix »

ive noticed that in win xp sound properties creamware card has a settings
tab that has (16 - 24 - 32 ) bit setings but its default to 16 bit and u cant select
other bit settings ie: 24 or 32 is this normal and is the card only operating in 16 bit? thanks in advance

It depends on which ASIO and Wave modules are loaded in the project. I think that the PC refers to the Wave modules only. I, for example, use 32flt ASIO drivers for communicating with Cubase and have also Wave 16bits modules loaded that I send to an analyzer software that doesn't need any more than that.
What is written in that Windows panel is not very important. The important thing is the driver module you're using for a certain task.

yes, windows reports bitdepth incorrectly since scope is not a standard windows soundcard.
