Please ignore this track

Post by chriskorff »

:D

Hi all,

Truth be told, I did wonder if the title of this thread might actually *encourage* people to listen to this rather than discourage! To be honest, I'm not too bothered if it does or not... it's for Sharc's benefit really, as the bass sound came from his very own C4T synth (see 'Devices' section'), which I highly recommend, BTW.

FWIW, I have never owned, seen or heard a Cat monosynth - I just thought I'd try this one out, and hey presto - it worked seamlessly in XTC! All settings remembered, no glitchiness, just a copied/renamed DLL! Also, it sounds pretty dope. At first, I found myself cursing the fact that I couldn't modulate both the amp and filter with the ADSR envelope, but (as would be the case with the real thing) I worked around it and was happy with the result!

Anyway, here's a tune that owes its bassline to the C4T (and Masterverb... don't ask, I just wanted an oldskool sound, alright!?)

Enjoy!

Chris

No Way Jose.

Brotha' Man Chrisskorff,
It was too short..
Tell what I heard anyway.
Attack of the ADSR was well timed, I could detect the 3 Voice polyphony of the synth, because it shuts down and retriggers when 3 voices are hit a second time. Nice. A 4th voice would not have allowed this.

You must be proud of your new rig.
This sickness will only grow.

Not trying to take light away from your post. But I do the same ADSR trick with 4 Voices, but I get a nice reverse type of effect by holding down 2 notes w/ the left hand, and playing melodies in the right that retrigger due to polyphony constraints. By adding a real wet stereo Delay I can get a psuedo live reverse sound, and the delay enhances it even more.

Have Fun & Get Some.

Where's the rest :-?

What I heard sounded good Chris. I'd never have recognised my own synth mind you, but that's nothing new

I like the bass sound. This thing.. (all bass of this type) are built for club pa systems! Feel it at the lungs!
