It's very interesting to see the new digital mixer from Beringher, the DDX3216 that claims to handle 32 channels, 16 internal busses and 8 aux/sends,32 bit effects powered by four Analog Devices SHARC DSP's. I'm not 100% sure, but I bet those are our CW ones. So I conclude we are still using a technology that's flexible enough to be on new products every day.

cheers.

Snoopy.

yeah, you're right - just checked their advertisement in a mag. Took them 5 years (what a surprise...) and there's windows editor, too. Maybe they tried all available DSPs during that time and finally ended licensing a 'Pulsar design'

Hi guys,
I think when you look at the design then you´ll find some similarities to the 01v, concerning the display and I/O´s. Behringer is known to imitate things that were produces by others. Their "Truth" monitors do look quite similar to the Genelecs 1031. Also the fact that they use Sharcs whith 40-bit EQ algorithms seems to be related to the 01v. Whith 16 busses and 24-bit converters the Behringer is a real competitor to the 01v (in that price range)....

Behringer was and is famous for copying and doing plagiarism of existing patents.
That's why his products are so cheap, because development costs are reduced dramatically this way.

But he had to fight several copyright cases at court, e.g.: Aphex vs. Behringer for cloning the exciter circuit.

It would't surprise me if they just copied the Creamware design in its basic circuits.
