Well not everyone 'gets' Scope i suppose.

...
I used to 'get' Scope but that was back in the days of Creamware. Since then, I've seen less and less point in dedicated hardware like Scope. Currently I'm using about 30 different VSTi within Ableton Live and that gives me all the synthesis flexibility I need. I render rather than mix, so I'm not interested in Scope mixers. I've sort of hoped that Scope might eventually move with the times (cheaper rather than more expensive, XTC functioning rather than malfunctioning), but that's clearly not going to be the case in the near future, so it's really a no brainer to ditch Scope. But it was fun for a time, and I'll miss what was once the cutting edge that Creamware brought to PC music production.

I have Live, but would NEVER render in that program. :D

Being a luddite, I'll take a back seat for a while and let you guys sort all the problems and "bugs" out.

Thank you all for the assistance that you'll be giving me :D
Quite forced to adopt the same behavior now, as I just received another board to which I need to transfer keys before asking for the upgrade :P
... But I'll surely be able to test it this week-end if Ralf's contract amendment for shift work has been signed already

I've never had a problem getting on with life, but I have learnt when to move on. Why so negative about rendering with Live? I've seen no objective evidence that ultimately supports one DAW over another.

Wot? :-? I thought it was all about having socially acceptable gear.

I think Live sucks bigtime and I never even seen hide nor hair of it. VST, Very Stupid Terminology.

I joss, I still gotta get this 5 thing going. It appears to be brownish, that much I know.

For mixing using Live I would recommend trying to route master channel out of Live through Scope - sweeten to taste - and record back into separate channel in Live rather than rendering inside the host.

I do this with Samplitude all the time with very good results.

Just my preference - having done it both ways. It's worth doing an A/B test of the final sound to see what's possible.

Just being stubborn, i'd rather suggest routing the individual tracks out of Live, sweeten each track with whatever you find suitable, route Master out of your preferred mixer via whatever you find suitable, into live again, then chop it up, loop it, play with it, add some more FX, add some more tracks, assign them to the free ASIO outs, repeat, and have the most beutifull intro you ever made not making it into a full tune.

Thats how i do it, all the time, with great results.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

any word on Scope 4.0 users?
are there financial penalties to be paid for not jumping on the last "upgrade" bandwagon?

Errr....you don't need any new plugins for 198eur but you want future new plugins without knowing price? Or you just want platform for free?
It sounds like you want to buy computer case without buying motherboard, with option to buy future motherboard which will fit in. But you want this motherboard for free...I really don't understand. I am not trying to be smart, i really don't understand...

Btw Scope 5 is stable as Scope 4.5. What is unstable for you there?

Hi

OK SO i don't understand!!! :) or what i did understand is same it was from Scope 4.0 to 4.5 if i pay for the upgrad i get the platform and giant bundle of plugins, and i didn't wonted all these plugins so as good things are i jest installed the 4.5 and it worked (without any new or non new plugins STS5000 sampler Bundle etc....) i got new paltform new drivers....

so if S/C Say i they decide to give to New Scope 5 for free, and for sure if i want the plugins bundle i willing to pay....

so NOW i understand that form 4.5 to 5 its free for the platform, and way i need it!! assume Modular 4 is out and something with the code is in Scope 5 is needed what than........ ?

and again if S/C didn't say its free i realy not a man who fight the wind......

+ it's stable a few crash when opning projects (minor) more like wrong form of speech :)

Well said @plonter!
Furthermore why i must pay 200€ to betatest a software that was "ready" one year ago?
I think they are still cheating us!

quick question:
The "new" reverbs SC Plate, SC Ambience etc. are the same as the Sonic Timeworks P100/A100 but with a different skin?
And the RMX160 and the SL9000 are originally DAS plugins?

Yep. In fact when you save a preset file it still has the original name, eg. STW Ambience etc.

I bought the Plate and Ambience for about 250 back then, and I still consider that a bargain.
To get such stuff for free (those who have 4.5) is a tremendous favour by SC.
For the rest it's 'just' a good deal.
Once you start tweaking these devices you'll ask yourself how you could ever get along without.
Mind the Chorus Delay and Inverse Algorithms are also included.

cheers, Tom

STW Chorus Delay impressed me.
I am really a picky Bastard when it comes to an effect that adds coloring no matter how perfectly designed. PtchShfting on an Eventide even yields artifacts as we are dealing with bending of sounds, but their algos are the best. The hardware Eclipse I bought was strictly for it's top shelf chorus, I was not fond of the bright synthetic reverbs although they are of a great quality.
Having warp69's STW Suite allowed to make a change from hardware to the DSP models.
I have sold my last PCM91, and now the Eclipse is gone.
I can no longer see having hardware for live work a necessity.
Maybe for certain recordings the hardware would have an advantage, but these devices have just put 25 Bones back in my pocket.
The STW Chorus is a masterpiece in precision.

Here's a nice treat for all of us from mpodrug. These presets were not included with my installs.

Same thing here...i never heard something like that in plugin form until this STW Chorus...Can be subtle or sooo rich, it can even make creamy reverbs....totally amazing...Whole warp69 series is very very musical bundle...
